Heartbreaking. It underlines that dementia and being a dementia carer is such a lonely journey.

I’ve gone from working in Canada’s single payer system to Australia’s 2 tier one and it’s terrible.

I moved from working in a single payer healthcare system to now working in a two tier one- it’s terrible, especially for surgical care.

I was supposed to fly into Brisbane for a conference today- everything cancelled which was a sensible decision. Hope all stay safe.

Been wondering the exact same thing. Surely the whole “critical” “serious but stable” etc categories that get used by the media for everybody else could be used.

CC. His book just arrived on my doorstep yesterday. I am only a few pages in but what an incredible legacy he has left. RIP

🎯. So tired of speaking in generalities and not concrete actions.

It’s bad enough watching from here. Not that anybody can be too smug- everyone is one election away from electing awful ppl who will do awful things.

Australia’s national broadcaster (with presumably fairly deep pockets) called it an “awkward arm gesture” . And I lost a lot of respect for them unfortunately.

Yes I’m going to try and not use them in future. It’s out of control.

I agree but I do think hotels generally need to do a better job in giving non solo business travelling ppl-esp families- what they need/want for accommodation. I don’t want to have to eat out 3X/day when travelling. Just had to Airbnb for 2 weeks emergently- Hotel would not have worked.

Australia’s National broadcaster called what he did an “awkward arm gesture.” while playing a video of it. What a joke journalism is these days- we are not far from Big Brothers Ministry of Truth.

That’s what I’m worried about. But also worried about what leaving a visible profile on there says about me. Rock and a hard place right now.

That is exactly my strategy- took off my phone months ago. Don’t want anyone else able to use my handle tho.

I was that cyclist 28 years ago. I remember putting the bike away once I got to Paris. There was a protest I walked through that trip- cyclists protesting how dangerous it was to ride in Paris.

Jordan is the son of Anthony Mitchell who died in the Eaton fires because he stayed behind with his disabled son Justin. Justin had CP & needed medical evacuation. It never came
Jordan has lost his brother, father & their home
Please boost - it’s being left out of news articles

I find it difficult to watch my kids sports for the same reason.

Weekends is when they restrict or eliminate train service into the city (from places like here I used to live-Georgetown) so not necessarily. Weather patterns will make it worse but I’m not an expert.
