Couldn't be clearer that Democrats aren't a party in the way that Republicans are a party. The GOP has an ideological project. They build power to accomplish specific things. The project of the Democratic Party is getting Democrats reelected. 80-90+% of Congress is, so it doesn't take much effort.

Mothers Day feels very different this year. My grandmother and mother are living, and I’m not estranged from them. And I have two beautiful daughters who call me mom. But a lot of my close friends have lost their mothers and/or or yearning to be mothers, and it makes me feel guilty in a way.

Health equity and racial justice work is so underfunded, it’s not even funny. I read a report this morning that indicated that the investment hasn’t yielded a return, but I’m not sure how that’s expected to happen when grants for this work range from 50k - 250k. At least from what I’ve seen.
