When I was younger I didn't understand why universities required science and engineering students to also take humanities classes. The last decade, especially the last few years, have made it obvious to me.

companies listening to what people say they want instead of making art and just giving them something has been ruinous for games, movies and more for the last 10-15 years

its amazing the way conservative arguments fall completely apart in court when there are actually penalties for lying

Being that I live in NY-21, this has a bit more meaning. This guy actually comes from the district as opposed to the past decade worth of candidates from both parties. It would be nice to have some proper representation rather than someone using us to boost their career

I’m the dairy farmer running to replace Elise Stefanik in New York’s 21st Congressional District. Can you repost this, give me a follow, and help spread the word?

I don't understand why they keep being allowed in to these places where they have no legal authority to be. Why are none of the security people holding a gun and saying no?

“MaYbe shE’s goiNg to be in TroUble nOw” Maybe he can learn to read. The Constitution would be a good place to start

Adams must be removed. The city cannot sustain being governed for nearly a year by a Mayor who is being coerced by Trump admin in order to escape charges. This corruption poses a real threat to the people of the city. He should have resigned a while ago, but will not. So it’s time for him to go.

Oops 😬

In the coming weeks, a lot of slow-on-the uptake folks are going to begin belatedly realizing Trump is both an inept moron and a dangerous autocrat. Our great civic challenge in these trying times will be calmly welcoming them aboard instead of primal-screaming in their faces.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

We were just told that they won’t let us in. They are denying entry to 2 dozen members of Congress. Elon Musk has all our private information & we have no idea what he’s doing with it. This is happening completely behind closed doors. HELL NO. It’s illegal. We demand oversight!

if you’re 25 years old with control of the entire treasury system and you don’t delete every student debt file, you are the biggest loser the world has ever seen

A private citizen, with the backing of the President, illegally shut down a major government agency over the weekend and it is not on the front page of this morning's New York Times @peterbakernyt.bsky.social

I really don’t think it’s happenstance that pretty much every remaining institutional safeguard broke down within 15 years of Citizens United

It was a mistake to assume the end of the world would be caused by smart people acting like selfish idiots rather than selfish idiots acting like smart people

So if I’m understanding today correctly, the world’s richest person Elon Musk, whom no one elected, is taking over federal payment systems and employee data while the federal employees who investigate and prosecute public corruption are being fired en masse.

People working for, or with, Elon Musk are reportedly taking over the inner workings of multiple government agencies, including the Office of Personnel Management and the Treasury Department. Read more here: tcrn.ch/4hjQvqR

Legacy media publications in the US are so fucking broken. There's a reason so many journalists are leaving publications like the LA Times, NYT, and Washington Post. Journalistic integrity is no longer in their vocabulary. LAT edited this op-ed to make the OPPOSITE point of the author's intent...
