6's style is ideal for an octopath traveler/dq3 remake treatment, and there is the rumor that they're doing just that with chrono trigger. i think that would be a delight

i played premium jaws at the mn state fair and the little upper playfield it has and the shark that pops up from under the boat are just so much fun, i miss it on the pro version for sure. but hey. more diversity in table design overall i guess. just weird to have pinball have trim levels like cars

oh wowwwww that is gorgeous. shit. i know it's just how stern does things but i get sad sometimes that the premiums often have different playfields with more stuff than the pro models. just make fancier bash toys or something! i want to have the moving bridge and the building too!!!

holy shit. premium or pro? if you say premium i'm going to get so mad at you

it doesn't happen *too* often thankfully. i love that table and the godzilla table so much.

the dungeons and dragons table at my local haunt keeps having a thing happen where the ball won't register as drained so the table just keeps thinking the ball is stuck somewhere on the field and it basically soft locks in a pattern of jiggling all the mechanicals forever

the paradox of needing an overbearing federal government to enforce libertarian "i should be able to do whatever i want" hyper-individualism is i think the very heart of the failure of the american experiment

i resent that this is one of the only things that brings me hope right now, but we'll have to take it.

the only way these shitlords triumph in this ideological struggle is, as the nazis attempted, to literally erase enough historical primary sources that their bots can spit out a false narrative without contradicting the record. they must never be allowed to do this.

you might give grok a narrow enough corpus of data to spit out a falsehood like "left wing violence is more common and lethal than right wing violence," but if it had little enough info to say that, if you asked it such as "what happened in world war 2" it would say "hitler was right :)"

the problem for liars and conspiracists like musk and his ilk is always going to be that if you give an LLM enough data, it's going to be impossible to get it to construct an objectively false narrative. but if you give it little enough data to actually parrot you, it's going to be obviously dogshit

"do your own research" has been code for "keep looking until you find someone who says what you already believed" for the better part of two decades now. with so-called "AI," these tech billionaires want to streamline this confirmation bias into a machine. musk was angry at grok for not doing this

once upon a time, it took an awful lot of effort, bona fides, capital, peer review, etc to have something published and dispersed. now there's just so much fucking information floating around that you can seek validation instead of truth and always find it with little effort
comment in response to post
tech billionaires would kill to successfully construct a narrative building machine that would always tell you something that made you stop worrying and stop seeking further sources of empirical evidence to substantiate said narrative

i think there's a lot to be said about how probably genuinely free and happy this allowed a lot of the peasantry to be back then. as i've mentioned a lot now, more than anything else in life people want an uncomplicated narrative continuity in which the world makes sense and is a place of justice
