I once was in a room where a very smart woman said something along the lines of, "create your own scientifc mafia" (e.g. a closed group of people in a particular field, having a controlling influence). Never been prouder to be a part of a brilliant group of scientist who look out for one another.

I am astounded that @nytimes.com has not reported on the horrific letters that went out to all of the government agencies. Absolutely insane lack of journalist integrity. Shame on any news outlet not reporting this.
