Probably at least some Hillary primary to McCain general voters were motivated by racism. The point though is that there is no evidence that the "left" sat out voting for Hillary more than the center sat out voting for Obama, putting the lie to a claim that centrists like to use against the left.

I'm addressing the claim in the post above that I originally replied to, which is factually incorrect. It is however a pervasive myth that centrists use to attack the left.

But my link shows voting behavior comparing Clinton primary to Obama general voters vs Bernie primary to Clinton voters, showing that Bernie voters were more likely to support the eventual nominee (Clinton) than Clinton voters were to support Obama. It says nothing about the definition of "centrist"

But in any case, if that is true, it is perfectly consistent with my claim above. Most Dem primary voters of all ideological stripes will vote for the Dem nominee. The point is that the left gets blamed by centrists for not supporting the Party, when the facts show that claim is not true.

This link (and the Pew survey it links to) provides no data at all for the claim that centrists (however defined) backed Obama. Maybe there is such data, but your link includes no data, take a look.
