In more positive, less doomscrolly news: Lex Imperialis, the second expansion to Rogue Trader, releases Tuesday. It may finally be time for me to think about diving in to this game! – even though I know a further two expansions are coming.

Since I shouldn't be the only one saddled with this terrible news I'm going to share it with all of you: The Steam Summer Sale begins on Thursday.

Saw someone referring to 'the original Baldur's Gate trilogy.' Yeah, I don't know, either.

We still have no idea who the ICE agents are. They could be insurrectionists, extremist militiamen or criminals themselves, chasing law-abiding citizens down the street for recording their kidnappings. The odds they aren't are low. Congress must raise hell about this. A masked gang runs our country.

Why do I suddenly feel like doing a halfling Way of the Drunken Master Monk run.

I think I may have found a new favorite developer in Spiderweb Software! It's just one guy and his wife, and he's been making CRPGs for the last few decades. I've put in a little over 20 hours into Avernum: Escape from the Pit and it's so good! The writing and world-building are all excellent.

Hey @cynetrunner.bsky.social : given your appreciation of cyberpunk settings and CRPGs, you might want to keep an eye on this game. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo4n...

Something I've noticed in the last few months is that as I've gotten older, FOMO is not a thing for me when it comes to video games. It struck me that I could easily spend the rest of my life replaying my favorite games, only playing new games from my favorite devs, and be quite happy.

Of course.... 🤦‍♂️

Should mention that I played these six games for the first time back in 2001, from around June through to the end of the year. They are the reason why I love RPGs so damn much. 🥰
