Having a medical emergency while traveling is hard. Extremely hard. We certainly weren’t planning for emergency surgery. Today we are on the ferry to Ocracoke, where we will be with friends and tell stories. It’s going to be great.

On March 14, my husband had an AUS implanted. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2019. On 5/28, well into our vacation, part of the device eroded through the tissue and penetrated his scrotum. He is in surgery right now to have the AUS removed. This should NOT have happened.
