What an Exhibition Launch today at Paris City Hall! As I shared with media & guests, It’s been a HUGE honour to be invited by Mayor Hidalgo @annehidalgo.bsky.social to co-curate this unique Exhibition powerfully ā€œconnecting the dotsā€ between better city-building and urgent climate action! @paris.fr

People inside (and outside) the energy world waste way too much time debating the merits of individual energy sources & technologies. The most important thing right now, which all our resources should be aligning behind, is ELECTRIFICATION.

Housing is essential national infrastructure and the foundation of a strong economy www.hilltimes.com/story/2025/0...

BC's trawling industry says it's heavily regulated and sustainable. A environmental organization tried to fact-check that, had a hell of a time doing it, and found a very different picture. @amandafollett.bsky.social does a great job detangling this trawling story, dive in thetyee.ca/News/2025/06...

Four years ago the most deadly extreme weather event in recent history crept into B.C., killing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of our neighbours, our seniors, our sick and our most vulnerable. What have we learned since then? Today on @thetyee.ca thetyee.ca/Opinion/2025...

NEW: ā€œCanadian urbanist @brenttoderian.bsky.social teamed up with the city of Paris and, in particular, its mayor, @annehidalgo.bsky.social on a new exhibition that shines a light on cities and global climate action.ā€ Thanks very much @momentummag.bsky.social for the great questions! #Paris

Reuters reporting that oil and gas producers in Alberta flared (i.e. burned off excess) natural gas to the tune of 912.7 million cubic metres in 2024. By my math, that would emit about 1.8 megatonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. Or roughly the equivalent of Alberta's entire cement industry.

What do a football jersey, a ski suit, a beach towel, and a scarf have in common? They all show the warming stripes—and open the door to talking about climate change. Here’s more on how you can join in, and start a conversation today without saying a word!

Mamdani didn't just defeat Andrew Cuomo, he also defeated the entire Democratic party establishment (which includes the plutocrats and elite media). www.thenation.com/article/poli...

A reminder that the @nytimes.com told New Yorkers to not rank Mamdani at all, & instead endorsed former hedge fund manager Whitney Tilson. Tilson sits at a whopping .8%. Corporate media trust is dead. They killed themselves by failing to fulfill their promise of holding the powerful accountable.

What exactly is an Alberta approved immigrant?

Underrated in politics: 1. Saying stuff you actually believe whether or not it is the stuff that polls best 2. Not counting on billionaires to buy you a victory with TV ads 3. Spending time campaigning

Now that the "fiscal conservative" mask has been well and truly ripped off, there's nothing left but guns, oil and hate.

I'm old enough to remember growing up with kids who had long-term hearing loss because of measles. Please vaccinate your kids.

In a rational world, or more accurately a rational NYC political environment, everything Cuomo has done would disqualify him from holding any elected position of power again.

Honestly one of the best reasons I can give you to plant native plants right now is that everything fucking sucks & a lot of it feels (or is) totally out of our control (depending on who you are). One thing most people can do is plant a plant and then look at bees happily sipping on it.

There have been 4 by-elections since the 2023 provincial election, giving Albertans in Lethbridge, Edmonton, & Olds a chance to reconsider which party they support. The UCP has lost 3 and lost support in the 4th. Danielle Smith wants you to feel the UCP are unstoppable. They are not. āœŠšŸ¾

One reason I think it’s important to continue to highlight the disparity on our streets is that most people just don’t see it. Despite it being obvious to some, so many people don't have clarity because we have done such an incredible job of normalizing this imbalance.

The Alberta Energy Regular is a sham.

It's fascinating that people think AI can replace doctors and teachers but can't select all the squares containing motorcycles.

Why isn't the media focusing on the real driver behind Netanyahu's cruel attacks on Gaza killing 1000s of innocent citizens, especially women and children, and bombing Iran? It's to keep his theocratic, ultra- far right coalition together and prevent him going to jail on corruption charges

Greenhouse gas emissions from Alberta's oilsands have also continued to set new records. They hit 86.5 megatonnes in the latest National Inventory Report. (By comparison: Quebec's *total* emissions were 78.9 megatonnes that year.)

Appalling.

seems relevant somehow

When I see school streets in Paris—places where they made the contentious decision to fully exclude cars—it makes me wonder if we actually care about the welfare of children back home.

Wildfires are a health crisis, but fossil fuel air pollution causes far greater, ongoing harm. Canada can’t claim climate leadership while expanding oil & gas. Carney’s plan sells out our health and our future. We need bold action for clean energy, clean air, & the courage to stand up to Big Oil.

Get vaccines, people.

Trees are essential infrastructure for human health.

One of the reasons we need to remove more concrete and plant more trees is because all this exposed concrete absorbs an incredible amount of heat, even compared to concrete that’s shaded. #onpoli #topoli
