Rest-do days never stop 😁 I’m recording an interview about my book today. Looking forward to talking with Maria McCann for WLR FM radio. It’s always interesting to answer questions about rest-do days.

challenging our excluding politics, read this and please share www.transformingsociety.co.uk/2025/02/17/t...

Today is a hospital day for me. I wonder how long I’d survive without the NHS. No private provider will touch me even for the most minor procedure because I’m too risky. US style anything sounds scary. Surely Reform must be losing its appeal? eastangliabylines.co.uk/politics/rad...

Hoping to get back to doing interviews about my book next week after a few weeks’ absence. I enjoyed answering questions & having missing the opportunity. Feel free to post yours here, to help me warm up😁🤔

Read the whole thread. Most of my research would be airbrushed out of all funding and publication in USA right now. NB good luck doing epidemiology research without the word 'bias'. #academicsky #episky

I can breathe quite well now after chest infection but am in that state of fatigue where it’s very difficult to initiate anything. Another rest-do day tomorrow, following my habits to save energy.

Slowly shifting from sick days back to rest-do days. I helped a lovely friend to change my bedsheets yesterday. Novels are my best escape from miseries of being acutely unwell.

Saw my GP & spoke with my respiratory consultant. It’s so helpful to hear how they understand why I can’t breathe v well. Both offered feasible suggestions & reassurance. Feeling like I’ve turned a corner towards better times today.

Been a tough wheezy snotty bloodstreaked week so I assume my vasculitis is flaring alongside respiratory infection. It’s been good to receive lovely photos from friends, among many other gestures of support.

If governments and organisations attended to indoor air quality, we’d be less reliant on masks to prevent transmission of respiratory infections.

Good morning from the Yorkshire Dales.

Hello! So sick of the guy(s) behind the other big socials, I'm here to try this out. Here's an owl drawing to kick things off.

Will today be a rest-do or sick day? For me a rest-do is guided by my intentions, a sick day by my immediate needs. Still v unwell so probably a sick day. restdodays.blog/2024/11/06/f...

In my rest-do days book, I suggest that sick days are when I potter about, doing essentials like going to toilet, taking meds & eating/drinking. Today is a sick day as the same cold that my 84 yr old mum shook off in 5 days is getting the better of me. www.book2look.com/book/49aOEkI...

Had a rest from reading demanding books to lose myself in Kensuke’s Kingdom, warm & moving. Rest-do days take many forms www.michaelmorpurgo.com/products/ken...

Cartoon from 2004, done mostly to give the office thesaurus an airing. Hearing later that he'd had a rough time, I was slightly worried that accusing him of owning a cattery which was merely a hollow facade might have been a bit unkind, but it turned out that he liked it, so I sent him the artwork.

Don’t miss the deadline for this conference 👇🏻👇🏻

Have really enjoyed listening to BBC Radio 3 InTune this week with @saramohrpietsch.bsky.social @bbcradio3.bsky.social

No, SARS-CoV-2 isn’t a little bit airborne. It’s not “situationally” airborne. It’s an AIRBORNE VIRUS, spreads via the air. I’m granting an amnesty on people who said (5y ago) that it wasn’t. I won’t say I told you so if you finally acknowledge the evidence. Let’s just get this right and move on.

Off to get a drive thru blood test (yes I do stick my arm out of the window). It means waiting a while in the car, so I’m packing some things to do: crochet, current novel, hot drink. Rest-do days often mean planning ahead so I’ve got something to do that’s restful.

I knitted a coat for my grandog Apparently he was more impressed than he looks.

And today we also had the sad task of updating the number of covid dead in the UK. ❤️

'How's that on a scale of medieval misogyny?' Ian Hislop tells Andrew Marr that Elon Musk is 'riddled with contradictions'.

Thank you Captain Vimes!

How is it possible to visit an exhibition & not crash with fatigue afterwards? Travel with good friend, rest & eat then don’t look at every painting. Come home after that. Rest-do days can happen anywhere 😁👍
