I need this shirt

Florida State just knocked off Notre Dame at home. After Kentucky beat Tennessee and Duke beat North Carolina. Like I said, chaos!!!

We have seen two impeachment worthy stories break today alone. Incredible levels of corruption and lawlessness. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

Donald Trump just helped free Andrew Tate from his rape and human trafficking charges. Tate has bragged about grabbing women by their necks, breaking their jaws, and said “I am absolutely a misogynist.”

#EDIConcert Day 27: After starting class with talking about two killing anniversaries this week, needed these inspirations. 2-27-1897 is when Marian Anderson was born. This song was sung at my wedding as the entrance hymn. Song 1: youtu.be/xjhhxFsStaM?...

Great thread! Just got out of a faculty meeting & they stimulate more potential mental spiraling that takes more time & energy post-meeting with colleagues to decompress from the new request/information.

Rest in Peace, Gene Hackman & Betsy Arakawa. So many great roles, scenes, & speeches by Mr. Hackman. A great actor who could inspire, strike fear, & make one laugh (always giggle at his request in Superman II for "beach front property; Australia"). youtu.be/MRWowww2lEI?...

Mornin' . . .

#EDIConcert Day 26: Today is when I wear my "I love my Blackness & Yours" hoodie in honor of Trayvon Martin. On Feb. 26, 1870, Wyatt Outlaw was lynched by KKK members. He was the first Black town commissioner of Graham, NC. (h/t @jmitchellnews.bsky.social). Song 1: youtu.be/rNvviKE3cPc?...

#EDIConcert Day 25: Hiram Revels became the first Black person to take the oath of office for U.S. Congress (Senator from Mississippi) on Feb. 25, 1870. Song 1: youtu.be/PQiDpQkC88o?...

Thread: #Sigh1 I started reading the WaPo after one of my sisters & her husband moved to NoVa in the late 1980s & I would visit. He always had the Post & I enjoyed browsing through it when I would be in the area. Yes, this may not end well for a great paper.

No words.

Um, actually "Fuck off" is only PG-13, for example it was allowed in X-MEN FIRST CLASS. If she said it twice it would be R-Rated but definitely not X-Rated. This is why people don't trust the media

Remember when Republicans wanted to impeach Bill Clinton because big donors got to stay a night in the Lincoln bedroom? Seems quaint now.

Yep, I agree with Rep. Massie for a moment. My rep voted for it.

Utahns, Owens, Moore, Kennedy, and Malloy just voted to pass the Republican budget blueprint. This begins the budgeting process for increasing the debt limit to $4 trillion, tax cuts for the 1%, and cutting billions from America’s safety net. Did I mention the tax cut for billionaires? #utpol

Note here that Musk is now literally assigning himself new contracts based on the use of his DOGE wrecking crew and the associated micro-bros. this isn't a "conflict of interest". it's just handing yourself federal money www.cnn.com/2025/02/25/b...

"We're doing something bigger than just basketball here and I'm really grateful to be a part of it." — Jewell Loyd

"For this lovely organization to bring me in and let me be involved, but still behind the scenes, was such a cool opportunity." — Liz Kitley

Has The Onion become the new "The Simpsons did it"? So many things coming out seem to be Onion, Simpsons, tv/movie plots, etc.

Thread: Not counting grad school TA/teaching, been doing this for 30 years. Not once has any form of IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) office/group directed me on what/how to teach or do research. Have had non-IDEA entities/folks "question" things & want changes, though.

"The strength it takes to hold the door open for others even while people are trying to shut you out of the room is the strength of Black women in this country. White executives never seem to think about that when they’re firing Black women."

More and more institutions are showing us exactly who they are and always were. And we should never let them forget.

I still don’t understand why Democrats would negotiate a budget when the Trump administration claims unilateral authority to cancel any spending it dislikes. As long as congressional Republicans endorse that position, they are not legitimate negotiation partners! An agreement with them has no value!

The United States is literally for sale

Um, does she not realize 1. her staff are federal employees & 2. she is a federal employee? #AwakeAndAlive2025

Wow, just wow . . .

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt says the White House will now decide who’s in the press pool that travels with Trump. That duty has long been decided by the press itself as a rotation. This means details of Trump’s interactions w people — especially embarrassing ones — are likely to be sanitized.

Glad this is happening, especially in my birth state, which seems to want more death penalty cases. Shame OK did not follow what the parole board said for Emmanuel Littlejohn. Shame that SCOTUS did not step in for Marcellus Williams. #EndTheDeathPenalty www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

On an odd note, it has been about 3 months since my pacemaker surgery. The swelling of the area going down and/or my working out has caused it to be more visible. From a certain angle, it can look like a Delta Shield under my skin at times. Not going to tap it, though. Hopefully, it is not Badgey!

Mornin' . . .

Goodnight . . .

As much as I like Abby Philip, this is why I cannot watch the show. The panels on CNN are not about exchanging ideas, debating issues, even having the occasional flare up, they seem to be aimed at “scoring points”, usually by trying to mimic social media posts.

I love that @maddow.msnbc.com just said on her show that a) she disagrees with MSNBC's decision to cancel @joyannreid.bsky.social and b) it is "indefensible" that @msnbc.com let go of 3 women of color who headlined anchor desks at the network: Joy Reid, Alex Wagner, and Katie Phang. Thank you!
