If you do not know the story of Marian Anderson, I encourage you to look it up (nope, not always going to do the homework for you). Suffice it to say, those who denied her singing in their concert hall only gave her a bigger audience & missed out!

If you have not seen "Unforgiven", it is not an easy watch but such a great film. Sadly, I get the feeling it fits too well for our current times 30+ years later.

On Feb. 26, 2019, the Black Cultural Center at the U. opened.
In 2012 on Feb. 26th, Trayvon Martin was killed walking back to his father's fiancee's apartment after going to a store. The resulting trial inspired the start of Black Lives Matter.
