I appreciate your understanding that DLSD is an underlying issue, but your experience with my neighborhood seems limited. The meeting addressed many of your concerns.
I hope you will engage with other stakeholders and data when it comes to fixing Peterson, Ridge, and DLSD because those are next.

You seem very unfamiliar with the area. Perhaps review the data before commenting?

Ya. It seems like they were playing off her care for the kids. Absolutely despicable

I'm super excited that they said it's happening, but I wish there was more outreach to those who aren't online as much. Had a good talk w/ a Hayt crossing guard and there's a neighborhood group that had her convinced the project would increase traffic and put more kids at risk

This was taken about a week after the CDOT presentation (by someone else). This is at Ravenswood and Granville and happened just before 8am, when children were walking to school

This is the aftermath of a car running into Alexander's on Clark and Granville. Again, I took this picture while walking back from the store with my daughter

For example: I took this picture, at Ravenswood and Ridge, while walking to Target on a lovely Sunday afternoon. Emmerson park is across the street and was full of kids and families. I guarantee none of the association people against this project witnessed it firsthand

So people the vast majority of people who live on Granville are in favor. It's the neighborhood association people - who do not experience Granville traffic on a regular basis (children that attend their neighborhood schools, primarily walk/bike, ect) - who are against the project

They were trying to explain graduated tax specifics in terms of buckets, probably to dispel tax bracket myths.
The referendum was really direct, basically asking if people wanted those making over $1million to pay more to bring down property taxes

A huge issue with the original push was that the concept and explanations complex. The lamguage in the referendum was simple and direct. Should be lesson learned going forward

Got it. Apologies for misunderstanding. I've found Metra very IYYK / needlessly difficult to navigate and was hoping to help

Completely agree. I'm just relating my experience. I used to commute from Ravenswood to Schiller Park and then Edgewater to Downtown, and found a ebike to be the most reliable and often the fastest method
You know about the live Metra tracker (Real Time Map), right?

They respond to tweets, or used to
While this super sucks and Metra/CTA really need to do better at keeping things going and communication, it's worth noting that unexpected delays happen more often with driving (far more collisions). I've found biking is the most reliable transportation

He's 79, backed Vallas for mayor, and has been ineffectual as at reigning in SCOTUS as head of the Judiciary Committee. His term is up in 2027. I think Chuy would be an excellent replacement
