That’s a Clerks looking sign

Do people not use “privilege” as a security term any more - as in “privilege escalation”?

The difference in weather today between Palo Alto and San Mateo was pretty ridiculous

Class action lawsuit settlement payouts can feel so random sometimes

In local politics, how are people thinking about Measure A in San Mateo County?

Those numbers!

All of the East Bay?

1/ 5 years ago on this day at this time. I went to my local CVS on a lark to see if I could buy N95 masks for my in-laws in Hong Kong. To my surprise there were already people there waiting, wearing masks. They had been coming nightly to see what the employees would unbox from their daily shipments.

On a related note, you should wash new clothes before you wear them. (I worked in apparel factories/warehouses - yikes! My mom worked in retail - the things people do to return items!)

Well that’s a pretty view

I always appreciate a bottle of water or two when I check-in, but this seems a bit much!

Starting to see industry news starting to join which is always good! I’ve created another starter pack with @digidaymedia.bsky.social , @adweek.bsky.social , @marketecture.tv and more go.bsky.app/9fo4g2U

This restaurant is very detail oriented

I wonder why they don’t go all the way and fully automate the 7 train. The driver’s job seems to be just pressing ok over and over again.

This story going inside the ‘tower’ that controls the DeKalb Interlocking is incredible — gothamist.com/news/driving...

One of the downsides of being on the local police news mailing list is that you learn that there's just a lot of very strange people out there. (And there probably have always been.)

I wonder what Boeing would be like today had his warnings been heeded

There's so many eucalyptus trees in my area - and even if they don't explode into flames, they're damaging cars and putting people at risk with their randomly dropping limbs and/or falling over. I'm so thankful when neighbors cut them down. I wish our city had more budget to remove the public ones.

Most people wouldn't want to live next to an ammunition or gasoline storage facility, and sure enough, the building code classifies those as hazardous occupancies that need to be kept away from other things. Eucalyptus trees can be equally dangerous. #euclife

Some interesting trivia about the Bridgepointe Shopping Center: 1. It's in San Mateo - a lot of people think it's in Foster City 2. It used to be owned by TIAA (teachers' pension fund) 3. Target seems to own their own site, unlike the rest of the mall www.smdailyjournal.com/news/local/b...

The device that had one job…

I used this program once last year (I take Caltrain to work) and it was very painless to get reimbursed. (Note: They don't reimburse for tips that you give your Lyft driver, which makes sense.)

Good thing for Bluesky! No one else in my house felt the earthquake. (But I was the only one still in bed at the time)
