Lately I've been feeling in such a funk. Creatively, emotionally, physically, and beyond. Feeling not good enough, a little lost about next steps, and super unsure of myself. It's amazing how self trust is just about the hardest skill to build.

Because Derek and I are consummate professionals our talk will def *not* contain any pics of cute/ridiculous animals. But also if you want to learn how to increase your chances of getting into online festivals, optimizing them once you're in, or making trailers for them come hang with us!

Victoria is a powerhouse and I would highly recommend checking out her book. She's a wealth of knowledge in the community management space and I can only imagine the amazing insights inside.

This month marks ten years of Spoke & Wheel Strategy. Ten years has been a goal I wanted to hit from the beginning (but also felt impossible) so getting here is very meaningful. I'm so grateful to the friends & clients who have trusted me along the way. Thanks to all who made it possible.

Most folks don't seem to know the difference btween a strategy vs tactic: Strategy: The idea/positioning/plan you are going to enact to reach your goal. It's typically broader & more high level Tactic: The actual thing you're going to do (i.e. start a TikTok, launch a newsletter, be at xyz event)

@derek-lieu.com and I are talking all about online showcases, how to choose which one is best for your game, how to give yourself the best chances of getting in, and how to optimize it if you do. We talked to some organizers of the biggest online game showcases to get their insights.

For people who have confidence that things will work out in for them the future or that they can handle anything thrown their way...HOW? I want to cultivate this but I was also raised in a household that taught me the opposite.

Remember your marketing people are part of the team and want to be seen and respected as much. Please thank them and let them know you see and value them.

Do you all have any tips for keeping informed and up-to-date on what's going on without just drowning in a sea of despair and sadness? I don't want to tune out but I'm so sad/angry/insert negative emotion here. Between the LA fires & US politics every time I open anything I burst into tears.

A great thread about what marketing is and why it's important.

Just another day...

Well...if anyone wondered how this week is personally going so far someone drew graffiti on our uhaul trailer that we used to take our irreplaceable stuff out of our house in case it burned down so...that's cool. (I swear I'll stop being a negative Nancy soon but today is not that day haha)
