Thankfully the TG6 is pretty idiot proof, which means that even I can get photos clear enough to see what's turning up in our backyard (and I don't have to fret about dropping it in the mini pond that's right next to the hedge woundwort!)

And not forgetting the #hoverflies; I've found a couple more species of them too! And another beastie lurking in the #pond - our first #caddisfly!

A couple more species of #bee in the backyard. Spotting the mason bee solves the puzzle of what's using one of our bee hotels (t'other has been claimed by the leafcutter #bees shown earlier in the thread!). I've included fork-tailed flower bees & early bumblebees again simple because I love them!

What's *really* weird is that someone believes that a pile of dead vegetation looks neater/is more visually appealing than green alkanet and honeysuckle. No matter how hard I try, I simply can't understand that mindset.

I *almost* envy the likes of Starmer. It must be nice to be able to be so nonchalant about the suffering of others, to be able to deny culpability so conveniently. I *almost* wish I could turn a blind eye too. It's *so* devastating to have a conscience & to feel empathy with the people of Gaza.

Thank gawd for that; telling people stuff is a slippery slope. One minute you're offering unsolicited advice on hair colour, the next you're musing over the demise of nearly 40 million people.

URGENT! UN experts demanded safe passage for the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's ship Madleen, you can join them by putting Israel on notice. It only takes a minute. actionnetwork.org/letters/form...

They're wonderful! Our hedge woundwort is absolutely buzzing with them at the moment; dozens of them zipping around between the flower spikes (and venturing into the adjacent drift of thrift too when the mood takes them). #Bees

And then there are the #hoverflies too - not just the adults, but plenty of larvae too lurking among the roses. Throw in a #wasp or two and the occasional #damselfly nymphs lurking in the pond and things seem to be progressing well.

@smartdublin.bsky.social Pssst. If you want to 'imrpove' anything, you might want to start with your spelling.

The wonderful folk at @batconservation.bsky.social‬ have drafted a template for the email to your MP. Please adapt and personalise it to explain to your MP why it will have a negative impact on their constituents and why they therefore need to act. 2/2 act.bats.org.uk/planning-and...
