I definitely have a drive problem though & can go weeks/months without steam. I don't fight that anymore, I just go do other stuff until the feeling returns (it always does)

I was excited to use my own special Uno cards but it turned out Mattel was releasing new ones that had to be used with the Switch 2, which sucked. But also in the direct they showed Splatoon 4 and made the inklings really hot

Anyway - I never interpreted media literacy as a kid- vs. adult-targeted issue before, but instead as media targeting bigger audiences with less depth, deteriorating the medium... like short-form videos missing details or context, or TV that doesn't need your full full attention or even eyes

great! But it also means less attention from any given person... I read Netflix focuses on their show's "watchability" when put in the background and tbf, I've done that 😂 but demanding less & less from viewers like that feels like pushing the medium in... wrong, or at least less interesting, ways

I think about this a lot - it feels like the biggest objective difference in media compared to growing up is that today they often reach audiences of many millions, and there's so much more for any given person to choose from... that alone leads to decisions to make stuff more accessible which is

keylimba already supported 15 languages for a few years but I'm working on an update that lets you change languages (instead of being stuck to what your phone is set to)
The update will also add Do Re Mi note labels which is a much much harder problem than I once thought. Jackson 5 lied to me

I've been working on a tiny @keylimba.net update to add Solfège (Do Re Mi) note labels which unraveled into a massive rabbit hole spanning history, culture and music theory that broke my understanding of language and musical notes

I think the picture representation and categories suck and will never properly communicate what's happening in da thinky brain
