The “free speech absolutist” owner of X doesn’t like the output of the Community Notes program he has previously championed, so he puts his massive thumb on that scale to ensure it’s labels align with his twisted view of reality.

Hi, I'm Kate, a researcher at the University of Washington studying rumors and disinformation. I post a lot about my research and about my dog, Ruby. :)

Prosecutors in New York are doing more to counter the abuse of power from the Trump administration than our elected officials in DC. Integrity in action.

An amazing resignation letter to Bove from an AUSA who worked on the Adams case. Money quote: “I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

Tulsi Gabbard confirmed as Director of National Intelligence. My team 1st encountered her while studying conspiracy theories denying chemical weapons attacks and other war crimes in Syria (~2017). She repeatly spread those false claims, echoing Russian disinfo. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

This is what a cap on “indirect costs” through NIH grants will do. Going from >50% of grant total to 15% will change how your local university healthcare systems function everyday.

We are not far away from your spouse’s cancer trial stopping, your parent’s Alzheimer’s clinical trial evaporating, your teen’s mental health intervention disappearing. It’s easy to attack universities, but the recent actions from the White House will stop cutting edge medical research very quickly.

Reupping this Call for Papers for a special issue of IJOC. Just over three months to go. Please share in your networks.

I had polio when i was 9. I was taken from my parents & placed in a Hospital for contageous diseases- the polio ward. I would see them once a week - thru the glass window at the end of my ward. I could not walk. It was terrifying. Kids died. Iron lungs were awful. Dont let RFK Jr ban the vaccine

A fantastic choice. His work in Wisconsin has been phenomenal.

The handwringing lectures about how the left has no choice but to stay on Twitter are even more ridiculous when you remember that the far right used a series of alternative media — from direct mail to talk radio to Fox News to Breitbart to Gab, Parler and Truth Social — as their path to victory.
