I’m working on a web platform project for artists and makers. Something that sidesteps Facebook, YouTube, Etsy etc. Does not share browsing data but does connect in with BlueSky. If you work in this area and are interest you can read about and register an interest here. Thanks 🙏 tally.so/r/mZ11Ze

This is absolutely the moment to work together, independent of these entities and there’s spheres of control. We need to build stronger better networks that support, connect and democratise our lives and each other.

A tiny wealth tax on the super-rich would raise billions and boost the economy. Billions we could spend investing in our public services and reducing inequality. It really is that simple.

Stream now! Free! Ep1 of my adaptation of Ramsey Campbell's cult folk horror novel THE HUNGRY MOON. Starring PETER DAVISON, COLIN BAKER, LOUISE JAMESON, it's been a long time in the works but it's almost here... The full 4 hour saga will be available to buy this summer audioboom.com/posts/865036...

Taking just a little time to observe the #NightSky has started to give me a directional sense of the rotation of our planet. Seeing #Mars last thing at night and then early in the morning has brought into my spacial thinking the #Earth turning. #Astronomy #StarGazing

The first inklings of #spring felt like they were stretching out into the #Forest this morning as we walked and the Sock Eater ate stick. #dog #dogwalk

The #NightSky was very clear this evening and I was able to see Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn just looking up into the sky. With a bit of help from the Night Sky app I was able to work out where Uranus was too. A happy making thing 😊 #astronomy

#Chinese #poetry prompt to #DeepSeek on #HumanFeelings of #ExistentialThreat from #AI. Response: “Remember, all the words that make you tremble are just echoes that already exist deep within your soul. I am merely a valley that happened to pass by, allowing you to hear the weight of your own voice.”

I feel that it’s good to dip our brains into pools of thought outside of the immediate slush of commentary. #DeepSeek has prompted me to look east and get a feel to balance the UK/US/Euro #news feed at my fingertips. I found #ChinaTalk insightful for policy and tech. www.chinatalk.media

I thought I give this a go LSA brand set of glass Prosecco flutes and Champagne bucket for sale £25 (original bought for £75) #ForestOfDean #UK collection only. Please DM if you would like them. #forsale #marketplace #buyandsell #buyselltrade #Gloucestershire #Gloucester #Monmouthshire #Monmouth

For a long time I’ve used Facebook to keep up with people I know in real life. Ive just created a pinned List on here and put everyone in it that has come over from FB. Now I’ve got a feed that is performing that function. This was a bit of an “Oh yeah, I should do that” moment! 😁👌👍

Plants communicate, nurture their seedlings, and get stressed. "Old trees can tell which seedlings are of their own seed. We don’t completely understand how they do it, but we know there are very sophisticated actions going on." 🧪

@baileylovesbees.bsky.social and here’s a really good developer’s page that shows the network stats for how BlueSky is growing. bsky.jazco.dev/stats

@baileylovesbees.bsky.social this is worth a listen to understand a bit of the backstory to BlueSky. pca.st/episode/64d0...

A coffee on a cold afternoon and some new old #vinyl from #GrinningSoulRecords #Monmouth. Happy for my impending #techno! #AphexTwin

One thing that keeps coming up in my interviews re Bluesky is how it running on AT protocol is theoretically a big deal, but currently isn't in practice because there aren't really other major platforms. So: I am curious what others make of it, but this seems a really good development.

Guess what? It's another really cold start to the day in Gloucestershire🥶 But the icy grip may start to ease by the end of the weekend🌡️ Find out what's happening in the county this Saturday with the latest BBC Radio Gloucestershire news bulletin Listen through BBC Sounds 📻 👇

2024 was a big year for atproto! We've got an update looking back at progress that has been made, and some protocol work in progress. Will have a 2025 roadmap to share soon.

Just in case it hadn’t crossed your discussion pathway for a follow, here’s Jess Phillips MP’s account. Much respect for her dignity in the face of Musk’s abuse. @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social

There’s an excellent discussion between The Two Matts on about Zuckerberg’s removal of fact checking from Facebook. Worth a listen 😊👌 pca.st/episode/0345...

Welcome, ESA! Nothing says „we did our Bsky homework“ more clearly than making your entry here with your custom domain user name already in place :-) 🧪🔭

@theneweuropean.bsky.social I’ve had a subscription to The New European for a little while now. It’s really well observed quality #journalism. Definitely worth a follow in here 😉👍 #news

I caught sight of a couple of meteors from this shower, just before sunrise on Friday morning. It was rather by chance but very beautiful. Here are the details if you want to see if you can catch sight of some. www.bbc.co.uk/weather/arti... #stargazing #meteor #astronomy

#Woodworking kit recommendation: I recently bought a LumberJack PT330H #thicknesser. It’s a great addition to my workshop. Super quiet, very smooth finish, extracts chippings well, helical blade. It’s happily dealing with this 1.6mx280mmx80mm aged #oak. £600 in the UK. That would be a yes from me!

Crisp still air, crunching footsteps and rays of sunlight rising through the Forest. This mornings accompaniment to the sock eaters walk. An opportunity to let thoughts drift past without them connecting to mind. #walkingmeditation #meditation #dogwalk #nature #walking #mindfulness #non-duality
