Return of the Obra Dinn (2019, Switch) Rating: 9/10 An exceptional game of deduction wherein you work out the names & fates of 60 people aboard a doomed ship. All you have are bits of visual and audio clues. It’s an overwhelming task - both challenging and satisfying. Great exercise for the brain.

Enslaved (2010, PS3) Rating: 8.5/10 A fun and satisfying romp. Blends genres nicely to offer a variety of gameplay: puzzle, shooter, platforming, racing, button mashing combat. Action sequences are thrilling. The lead character (Monkey) is HOT. Admired its somber, existential question of an ending.

Looking for a movie to watch this pride month? I highly recommend “Big Boys”. The acting is superb. Took me back to the loneliness and yearning that is uniquely painful for queer youth. Loved the script, score, & feelings it evokes. The tone is masterfully sustained. The final scene is perfection.

I guess it’s the year of playing Andy Serkis games.. first he was in “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” and now he’s in this 2010 PS3 game I’m playing, “Enslaved: Odyssey to the West”.. if there’s a colon in the title, you bet your ass Andy Serkis is there! And my god his character in “Enslaved” is HOT.
