Today is pub day for @jasondashbailey.com's GANDOLFINI: Jim, Tony, and the Life of a Legend. You (yes, you) should read this book. I don't know you (maybe), but I know you'll like it. It's so smart, sensitive, insightful. A gem.

We are incredibly proud to present an excerpt from the excellent "Gandolfini: Jim, Tony & the Life of a Legend" by @jasondashbailey.com. Read on:

And just in time - excerpt number two! Thanks to THR for running this excerpt on the making of THE SOPRANOS' final season: www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/ar...

Thankful for everyone who’s shown their support today — incredible start to this race. But we’re just getting started. We can’t do this without you, so please chip in if you can at abdulforsenate.com/go

Brad Lander looks like Tim Robinson. He should be leaning into this.

Good morning! GANDOLFINI is on shelves two weeks from tomorrow and I'm proud to present our first big excerpt over at @vanityfair.com: www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/st...

As if you needed another reason not to vote for Cuomo.

May I never make such a stupid suggestion.

So very thankful to the lovely Mark Olsen over at @latimes.com for writing up next week's GANDOLFINI-adjascent L.A. screenings and chatting a bit about the man himself and his considerable gifts! www.latimes.com/entertainmen...

waste, fraud and abuse are such deeply perverted rallying cries for an industry that's spent a quarter trillion on a technology that bakes the earth to convert oceans of water into wikipedia that can kill you

Sometimes folks ask me, especially in this anti-Amazon atmosphere, where they should buy the book. This is the answer: buy it from the independent arts bookstore owned and operated by our pal @mattzollerseitz.bsky.social!

I don’t have a Washington Post subscription to cancel, so instead I finally got my act together and am supporting @thecity.bsky.social and @hellgatenyc.com

Do it! It’s a swell book!

What these nihilistic vandals are doing to dismantle science & medicine—generations of expertise & public service & life improving benefits—is cultural revolution level national self harm. No foreign foe could inflict such brutal damage & senseless suffering on US so fast & effectively & unresisted.

had fun trying to work through some hard feelings about paddington bear for Slate slate.com/culture/2025...

“They even took down the memorial wall at our headquarters honoring the USAID personnel who have died in service to our country,” a USAID employee, who has requested anonymity for fear of retribution, writes at @rollingstone.com: www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

In 2019, the council passed a law that upped the fine for using a fraudulent parking placard from $250 to $500. But an analysis of more than 20K violations issued from 2020-2024, not a single driver has been hit with a $250 penalty, let alone a $500 fine

It is finally pub day for SAUL GOODMAN V. JIMMY MCGILL: THE COMPLETE CRITICAL COMPANION TO BETTER CALL SAUL, so I hope you’ll indulge me on a quick thread. It’s now available wherever books are sold, and you can find online ordering links here: www.abramsbooks.com/product/saul...

Subscribe to WIRED. Support their reporting, which was been phenomenal and essential.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

this is what "small government" is. "big government" is preventing plane crashes and having the resources to respond to one when it happens. "small government" is the guy from real world leading the response team while the president blames black people for plane crashes act accordingly

This book is SO GOOD.

Find something to love as much as historians love opening with a weather report.

Very proud of @cassidyrandall.bsky.social's extraordinary book (Abrams Press, March 4), and love love love this starred review from Kirkus: www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews...

AI is going to enshittify so so so much.

Is there such a thing as....

Signed up for a yearly donation, which it turns out will now be every Christmas. 🎄

Just did the same.

I would recommend this book, American Teenager, if you’re looking to get an idea of what life is like for a lot of trans kids in America. It takes great care to treat the kids as people, not just political objects, and tells more whole stories about day-to-day life.
