Lovely to get out with local volunteers in Victoria Park today sowing wild seeds. This is one of several patches and we hope it will encourage moths and beetles, then in turn to help bats, mice and owls. @vpagbristol @TRESAcic

Difficult decisions? Difficult for who?

NEW: YouGov shows the @greenparty.org.uk's Mary Page ahead in the West of England mayoral race. Let's do it! 🚀

More amazing polling for WECA! Vote Mary Page and make this happen.

Lisa Stone and I out with volunteers and @BristolWaste litterpicking around Wedmore Vale and St John Lane area. Thanks to all the volunteers who came and helped, young and old we made a great team. @bristolgreen

Fascinating new study that strengthens case for shift away from car dominated transport systems. Models city resilience to crises that might be typical in the future. Finds the more ambitious the transition towards healthier city mobility patterns, the greater the contribution to city resilience.

Labour is nationalising rail operations, BUT the trains will be privately owned by firms taking £360m a year in dividends. Labour also reducing environmental and social obligations, such as disability access. Tell them to stop the gravy train. @we_ownit tinyurl.com/railway-for-pe…

Alongside Graham, we hope othe councils may join in with this progressive policy

Local Councillor Ellie Freeman and I were pleased to see the Festival Way reopened after a long closure (with a well signed diversion route). It’s been done to a good standard, with a bat corridor and lots of trees. Although it could have been widened beyond 3m.

Clean water is essential for our communities, yet pollution from agriculture and sewage continues to damage our rivers and ecosystems while private investors make millions. In Parliament, I called for action to bring water back into public ownership and address agricultural and sewage pollution.

The Lower Thames Crossing is a gargantuan waste of money that will dirty our air and increase road traffic danger and congestion across the South East. greenparty.org.uk/2025/03/25/a...

Yes. Again and again people are proved to be more progressive than everyone assumes

Thank you to all the @TRESAcic volunteers who turned out to spring clean around Totterdown’s green spaces by litterpicking. Lots of litter removed, including two crowbars hidden in the undergrowth. Quite a haul!

Research suggests the scheme may be more popular than thought, with consultations dominated by a loud minority

Why is there ANY debate? 🤦‍♀️ 20mph in Wales meant about 100 fewer people killed or seriously injured in a year. “There is, perhaps, a lesson here for politicians: sometimes it can be best to ignore the noisiest voices, and take the evidence-based course.” www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

a policy miracle: New York's congestion pricing bettercities.substack.com/p/congestion... (Better Cities)

Glad to get it passed this evening.

Want green, vote Green Green leader says Labour’s ‘growth v nature’ framing is an outrage

All those arguments about the expansion of Ulez feel like quite a long time ago, don’t they? www.theguardian.com/environment/...

💷 DID YOU KNOW THAT THIS LABOUR GOVERNMENT HAS GIVEN A SMALLER INCREASE TO BRISTOL CITY COUNCIL FUNDING THAN THE TORIES DID?!?! 💷 Cllr Shona Jemphrey is demanding more from Starmer and Reeves. How do we fund it you ask? Well….wealth taxes of course!

I am happy with the quick response to the mud on this pavement from @bristolcouncil.bsky.social

🟢 YOU CAN ELECT A GREEN MAYOR FOR THE WEST OF ENGLAND 🟢 We will win in the West if everyone who has ever voted Green before votes Green again. On May 1st there is an election for a new mayor. We have 60 days to make real change happen.

💚 YOU SPOKE & WE LISTENED 💚 We’re bring in some allowances and exemptions to the East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood trial scheme. This is to improve the scheme for Low Income and Disabled Households.

“It’s a fantastic example of upcycling, taking an older train and refurbishing it for a new purpose to help more people get out and use their bikes to enjoy some of the best countryside Wales and England has to offer.” More of this please.

Summary of the changes in new plans for Broadwalk. There are still some huge blocks on the main Wells Road, but a much, much more sympathetic and gentle impact on Redcatch Park.

”It’s no surprise that this is a problem,” says Tony Dyer. “Labour took £700K out of tackling street cleansing and fly tipping in 2023. This money will go some way to making up for this loss, and I hope will include putting back in one of the two fly-tipping rounds that Labour removed.” #Bristol

Really interesting from 2:12

This would be a big improvement when walking with the kids Agree with @tobywells.bsky.social that current layout is a poor use of space: “Prince Street Bridge carries far more pedestrians and cyclists than it does people in private motor vehicles, but they’re squeezed into a much smaller space”

The world did not end when the bridge was closed for two years between 2015 & 17. Twenty-four thousand pedestrians and cyclists use it daily; those numbers will only increase if motor vehicles are excluded. Bonus: the bridge will need a lot less maintenance!

We are not receiving any concerns from the Fire Service with our East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood. Pre and post data from ambulance service suggests no significant difference either.

Councillor @edplowden.bsky.social, Chair of the Transport and Connectivity Committee: “Following feedback from Visit West, Bristol City Centre BID, and other key city centre stakeholders, we are extending the popular m2 service to run later in the evenings and on Sundays."
