Diversity leads to resilience, not just agriculturally, but economically, environmentally, and humanly. indfarmsoul.wordpress.com/2025/03/18/d...

After a few lambing seasons of having a majority ram lambs, we have had mostly ewes born this year, which will rejuvenate our Shetland flock. This ewe lamb was born yesterday to an excellent mother, one of my favorite ewes.

I am looking for a way to sync my Scrivener projects to an Android phone app so I can work on the go. What suggestions do you have for working with Scrivener on Android? #WritingCommunity #amwriting #WIP

Beautiful Shetland twin ewe lambs born yesterday toward the end of a heavy rainstorm with strong gales.

A mouse with a dill pickle, multiple ways to write, and late starts: that's what's encouraging me this week. indfarmsoul.wordpress.com/2025/03/15/w... #blog #blogging #amwriting #writersky

High winds and thunderstorms coming in today. I just got off the tractor, and it got cold up there with the wind cutting west to east!

Web designers: the nonprofit I work with is looking for a new design. Create the look for an information center! Below is the RFP for more info. If you know a good website designer, please pass this along 🙂 #marketing #communications #webdesign #websites #RFP

My org is putting together a great #conservationag tour May 6-7 around Sioux Falls, SD. Soil pits, a farm tour, a waterfall, and good food (including local buffalo!). Check out the link below for agenda, sign-up, and group & farmer discounts! ctic.org/tour #agsky #southdakota #soilhealth #regen

Mice with swords like Reepicheep, Martin the Warrior, and Mattimeo are giving me courage today. ⚔️🐁⚔️

Just drove over to Illinois to see the planetary alignment. It was right on the edge of a cloud 🙂 So cool!

Look up for the camera 🙂 #lambing2025 #agsky #farmlife

January gold. Trondheim, Norway. 2021.

Whoa. Wow. 🔥

Enjoying the sunshine. 🥰

Lambing 2025 began today! Olive had twin ewes. She's the kind of ewe that's a content mum.

Let's see what happens with ye olde blog. What winding path shall I tread this time? #writing #writingsky #blogging

Our smallest kitty is the perfect size for curling up on our dog's toy llama for a nap.

With feels-like temps at -8 F last night and real at 0 F this morning, there was ice to break in the stock tanks. Last year, we began using multiple small tanks instead of one big tank. That helped keep the water liquid for longer. Doing that again this year. So far, so good! #agsky #farming

I wrote this 25 years ago, when I was 18 and leaving a mental health facility. It still helps me.

Our farm animals and Christmas trees were on the evening news last night! Skittles the Llama definitely stole the show 🦙 Video: youtu.be/_43g57u-jhM?...

-5 F for the low temp today. I'm glad we still have a lot of snow around; it makes the cold fun, especially when watching dogs and kitties play in the snow. #inwx

Mia the Sheepdog-in-Training. Her abilities are fascinating. During the photo shoot, she heard or saw something I couldn't hear or see and so looked off into the distance the whole time. She learns commands quickly, too, and it's fun working on new tasks with her.

Afternoon shadows on the snow.

Flew to Des Moines yesterday, about to fly home. My org's exec. dir. and I strategized for the #conservation #ag tour we're leading in S. Dakota this May, then we met with a board member and marketer for great food and convos that turned into LOTR and NZ discussions. My brain is happy 🙂 #soilhealth

Seven inches of snow here. It was relaxing watching it fall yesterday. Birds flitted from branch to branch of the juniper tree outside our bedroom window.

The Hillside Pasture holds some of my favorite views on the farm. From one ridge, I can look out over the Creekside Field and see the cows grazing half a mile away. At the back gate, I can see the sheep, goats, and llamas gathered around the hay feeders. sylvansundays.beehiiv.com/p/the-hillsi...

I've always loved seeing snow through the end of the covered bridge. Today, on our way home from chores, I had the chance to make a photo of it. So here's a snapshot into the view I see on my daily drive.

✔️ Water ✔️ Mineral ✔️ Hay We're all set for whatever winter weather is headed our way! #sheep #goats #llamas #farming #agsky #inwx

Happy Tolkien Day!

I'm listening to the U.K.'s Classic FM via the Global Player app as I work this evening. The music is so calming and beautiful; I've written down several titles to listen to again later.

No video, but here's the link:

A lovely start to the New Year with a First Day Hike at a local nature area. A TV reporter walked with us, and I was interviewed for the 6 p.m. news! I'll post the link here when the video is uploaded to the news site 🙂

Happy New Year's Eve!

These two photos have the same vantage point: the window of a covered bridge. First photo was taken Nov. 13, second was taken today. I'm thankful for all the water we're getting; we need it. #inwx #agsky
