Some kids have Pokemon. My kid has the life list on the Merlin bird ID app. Gotta identify them all!

Life in America: I was giving my child a lesson in the history of my culture (teaching him about Stonewall and the origin of Pride) and said the cops bullied gay people. He immediately asked if they were "the ICE police."

Laid out my five-year plan yesterday. The goal is to have about half of my property actively producing food. Getting phase one of the garden (for salsa and pasta sauce) in this year. Planted raspberries and apples. Already have blueberries and currants. Goals are good.

They care as much if a woman dies as if an appliance breaks down. We're not human, we're just incubators.

We're two days into Pride. A queer Native actor was murdered and media aren't reporting it as a targeted hate crime. The FBI has declared open season on gender affirming care providers. We need the spirit of Marsha and Sylvia now more than ever. And some bricks.

Solid advice.

He's attacking Springsteen, aka the Boss of every white male, Taylor Swift, beloved of the girlies, and Queen Bey, probably the biggest artist of color this century. Trump might actually unite America after all...

The right pearl-clutching over 8647 is further proof that they're completely out of touch. 86 is a kitchen term. If I 86 steak it doesn't mean I murdered it, it means it's gone. I used to yell "86" multiple times on a Friday night and amazingly no one died.

Insulting The Boss might be the thing that finally loses favor among white males over age 40.

I'm watching a pileated woodpecker peck at a stump surrounded by wildflowers while two baby squirrels play in the tree behind it. Sometimes rural living is very worth it.

4th grade field trip day. My son is in a tie-dyed shirt, a clashing tie-dyed bucket hat and sunglasses on a strap around his neck. He's one fanny pack from being a 55-year old insurance broker cutting loose on vacation.
