Ukrainian President Zelenskyy responded to Putin and it is a quite clever response. He welcomes it, but subtly preconditions the peace negotiations with the ceasefire starting tomorrow.

❗️Drop a 🇺🇦 if you’re on Team Zelenskyy.

Have called for negotiations at which Russia can reject an unconditional ceasefire again.

Putin offers Kyiv direct peace talks — with no preconditions. Says they could start May 15 in Istanbul. He’s set to speak with President Erdoğan tomorrow to request support in organizing the talks. Remember the delay in Iranian missile launchers? I think that's the reason

"We’ll judge Russia by actions, not words," says State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce. Indeed, given how many times Russia has broken its word, talk is cheap. Concrete steps are what matter.

Putin has made it clear: first, negotiations on the causes, then talks on a ceasefire, said Russian MFA spokesperson Maria Zakharova, commenting on Zelensky's reaction. She claims Kyiv misread Putin’s statement regarding talks.

As Putin proposes returning to direct talks with Ukraine in İstanbul, it should be stressed that initial talks back in 2022 were an attempt to secure Kyiv’s capitulation. Russia insisted on a disarmed Ukraine and a Kremlin veto over security guarantees www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/ukrain...

Macron: Putin's proposal for direct negotiations, after Kyiv and its European allies called for a 30-day ceasefire, is "not enough"

⚡️Russia pushes for resuming peace talks in Istanbul based on 2022 terms, situation on the ground, Ushakov says. Ushakov referred to failed talks between Ukraine and Russia held in Turkey in March 2022, which outlined potential terms for a peace deal.

💀 Russia loses over 1,300 troops in 24 hours

Putin doesn’t need a ceasefire. He has staked everything on this war and needs victory. The coming Russian summer offensive is likely to be the bloodiest of the entire war, warns @MBielieskov www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/ukrain...

Pope Leo XIV speaks out in support of Ukraine and against Russian imperialism. As if MAGA didn’t already hate him…

Trump says it’s a “big day” for Russia & Ukraine and he’s working to end the “endless bloodbath.” Promises a “better world” and a “BIG week ahead.” So far? He’s accomplished exactly zero.

🇺🇦 Ukraine shot down 60 Shahed drones overnight and neutralized 41 decoy UAVs out of 108 launched by Russia. Sumy region suffered damage.

Your School House Rock moment......

These are the indicative estimates of Russia’s combat losses as of May 11, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

DOGE was never about "efficiency”

“We have completely blocked the Black Sea Fleet in the waters near the port of Novorossiysk,” said Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence, commenting on the effectiveness of Magura sea drones Naval drone operations became a central focus of the documentary "Sea Battle:The Drone Era"

Zelensky: “It’s a good sign that Russia is finally thinking about ending the war. The first real step is a ceasefire. There’s no reason to keep killing, even for a day. We expect Russia to confirm a full, lasting, and reliable ceasefire starting May 12. Ukraine is ready to meet.”

Russian channels report that Ukrainian forces are attempting to break through in small infantry groups—without armored vehicles—trying to get control over Tetkino, Kursk region.

President Zelenskyy: That's a good sign that Russians are finally thinking about ending the war. The whole world has been waiting for this for a very long time. The first step in the real ending of any war is a ceasefire. It makes no sense to continue the killings for even one day longer.

So predictable: Putin’s aide Ushakov says talks in Istanbul should be based on the 2022 proposals and the current “situation on the ground” — meaning Russia keeps occupied land. The 2022 Istanbul deal was a blueprint for Ukraine’s surrender. Not a basis for peace.

Macron on Putin’s offer for Ukraine talks: “A first step, but not enough.” Adding that Putin’s looking for a way out — but also just trying to buy time. www.barrons.com/news/putin-s...

On the Pokrovsk front, Russian armor tried to push through — but the 3rd National Guard Brigade “Spartan” and nearby units were ready. The tank lit up the sky in a fireball, and the crew didn’t make it out.

🇮🇳🌊 India has opened a gate on the Chenab River dam, letting water flow toward Pakistan — right as a fragile ceasefire holds. This comes after India suspended a key water treaty following the Kashmir attack. It's still unclear whether this move is routine or tied to the ceasefire.

Putin rejects ceasefire, calls on Ukraine to begin direct talks in Istanbul next week as Victory Day 'truce' ends. "Russia is ready for negotiations without any preconditions," Putin claimed. Of course, Putin's word is as worthless as Trump's. kyivindependent.com/putin-calls-...

India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire just to get him to stop talking.

Putin chose war — and rejected ending it in favor of a summer offensive, said Andrii Kovalenko, Head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation.

Head of Ukraine's Presidential Office Andriy Yermak: First, 30 days of silence — then, the next steps. He emphasized that a ceasefire is the beginning of the path to ending the war and a real test of Russia’s willingness to stop the violence.

⚡️Ukraine 'ready to meet' Russia for talks after full, lasting ceasefire starting May 12, Zelensky says. “It’s a good sign that the Russians are finally thinking about ending the war,” Zelensky said. “Everyone in the world has long awaited this." kyivindependent.com/zelensky-say...

The Kremlin has fallen. So far, just a fake one in Khabarovsk region of Russia. But that's a start.

⚡️Ukraine downs 60 drones in Russian overnight attack. Russian forces deploying 108 Shahed-type attack drones and decoy UAVs from multiple directions, Ukraine’s Air Force said on May 11.

It is reported that India has opened one of the gates of the dam on the Chinad River, which flows into Pakistan. I cannot confirm whether this video is authentic.

🇫🇷 Macron responds to Putin's Istanbul counter-proposal: "France and the U.S. offered a clear, unconditional 30-day ceasefire. Zelensky agreed — no strings attached. Now it’s Russia’s turn. No real talks can happen while bombs are falling. Ceasefire first. Peace talks after."

AOC: We need to be talking about ICE agents and the cowardly policy of covering their faces — and, in many cases, their identification… The idea that we’re going to allow a paramilitary force to bloom, one that isn’t accountable to the Constitution… we’ve got another thing coming.
