We have the best skies in Ireland. This cheered me up this afternoon. #irishnature #speirgorm #spéirgorm

This gross industry literally only exists for gambling

Ah feck - what a bland winner. Back to business as usual for Ireland. So sad for Bobbi Arlo #eurosong

The magic of an Irish rainforest 🌏

Got talking to a woman at the shops yesterday, her son's an ESB engineer, one of those out fixing powerlines at all hours in awful conditions. Said during the last snow he got nothing but abuse off people pissed off at how long it was taking to restore power. These guys out risking life & limb, ffs.

a cultural thing.

Dublin Bus services gradually starting to operate again now that the red warning is lifted for Dublin. Luas and Irish Rail carrying out inspections of all lines at the moment. Stay safe everyone!

My mind is on Dara and her ilk. Rescue crews don’t judge. They come to your aid no matter how you got into difficulty. But isn’t it the decent thing to leave sea swims, coast walks, mountain treks, photo ops until Storm Éowyn has passed? Please. Do the decent thing. Stay home.

Lookit, I know I'm not the tallest woman in the world but just walked past a car in town whose bonnet was almost level with my shoulder and think maybe, just maybe, some of them are too big

Ever been riding with someone new to biking or from out of town and you feel it’s your personal responsibility to protect them and keep them safe the entire ride? Would be really great if our cities felt like this.

Rebuilding the area of Los Angeles destroyed by global warming-induced wildfires is expected to cost a minimum of $250 BILLION and rising due to the need to remove vast amounts of toxic waste. If you think 'net zero costs too much', I have some terrible news for you.

57 companies are responsible for 80% of global greenhouse gas emissions since 2016. These companies include fossil fuel giants like Chevron, Shell, and BP, who have been raking in record profits. The profits of Big Oil should not be more important than the future of our planet.

Driver: Can I get the 9,000 pound, 1000HP electric Hummer? You can drive it home today! Do I need a special license? Nope! Do I need any extra driver training? None whatsoever! So I can just drive off in this monster truck? Enjoy! Community: Can we get a speed bump? City: we’ll do some studies

Strange how “maybe we could make it safer to bike” is somehow translated into Every trip across the planet must be made by bike by everyone in every situation.

The problem with telling cyclists to ride "assertively" is that, while I don't dispute that it is the best advice if you have to share the road with motor vehicles, it does basically mean "use your soft human body to try to shepherd something that weighs several tonnes and can do 70+ mph."

Of all the concepts that humankind needs to absorb + act on with extreme urgency, this tops the list.

This has kept me sniggering for over 15 minutes now

Always enjoy our parents' generation's disapproval at early Christmas decorating, solemnly sighing that they usen't put up a thing until 3 seconds before midnight on the 24th of December and all that they had was half an orange with a clove stuck in it and an angel made from potatoes and misery

We don't need more remakes of old movies. We need more MUPPETS remakes of old movies.

There has never been and there never will be a more thoughtful or romantic gift than the mixtape.

For the love of God stop showing me bad takes from Twitter. If I wanted to see bad takes from Twitter, I'd be on Twitter.

Christmas Market with local queer community craft vendors at Pennylane this Sunday. Hot Xmassy drinks available while you cross a few names off your gift list

Happy International Day of People with Disabilities, and I am so happy that there's a day dedicated to celebrate people like me because people with disabilities are fierce and amazing people, I'm proud to be part of that community 🤍✨🫶🏼

Every complaint about people abandoning Twitter is essentially “but my mom says you have to play with me!”

My holiday wish is that one day our sidewalks will be as wide as our trucks.

Omg Lyra fast tracked to the Eurosong final? this could be HUGE for Ireland. Would be the second Cork act for us in a row 🇮🇪 🤩 ☘️ www.thesun.ie/tvandshowbiz...

Our Facebook neighborhood page complains about children riding to school on sidewalks. You would think the general promoted solution would be to advocate for more bike lanes. But no, it’s for children to stop going to school by bike/e-scooters.

I spent last weekend at the British Library's excellent 'Irish Writers Weekend'. I wrote this about Ireland's current cultural moment, the nature of coincidence, and what "progress" might really mean. www.irishexaminer.com/lifestyle-co...

If evidence was needed that Bluesky is where Irish twitter has migrated to then #dogsatpollingstations is all the proof you need

I'd like to protest at the dog heavy bias on #GE24 Polling Day! Much as I love all dogs, I fear that us cat people with cats - far too lazy to accompany us to the Polling Stations- are being sidelined. It's a national disgrace, I tell ya! #dogsatpollingstations

Would you believe that Pantibar is 17 years old today?! Time absolutely fucking flies
