Comics are an entirely different beast to books. Yes, even trades. It's rare for a traditionally published book to be delayed for years, especially once it's gotten to the pre-orders are open stage.

Also, watch your beloved local bookstore's queer books section over the next few months. See if it doesn't become less and less visible.

This is a thing that TikTok is notorious for. People brigading large creators demanding commentary on this or that thing in the news and then vilifying them whatever their response is.

What works for us right now is having every app (except libro.fm) on their tablet locked so that they can't use them without asking me to unlock it. And I never unlock Chrome unless I am setting something up for them. A lot of things can't access the web if chrome is locked.

It can be accessed through Spotify and Discord! In addition to heavy moderation and restriction with our 10 year old, we also have conversations about WHY we do that and what kinds of things/people are trying to get access to *them* through YouTube.

Mmm, yes and then the specialist's receptionist will answer the phone and very rudely tell you that it wouldn't make sense for them to accept a referral since they aren't seeing new patients and you should call somewhere else, you absolute idiot.

btw Goodreads is also owned by Amazon! I recommend StoryGraph as an alternative!

Ah yes, Tempe, the most "progressive" of the Phoenix suburbs.

1000% Shadow of the Wind. I started it in the morning after my girlfriend left for work and didn't stop reading until the room had gone dark around me and only then to flip on the light so I could finish. It was the first time in years I had done that with a book and that feeling will never leave me

Yes! This was exactly my feel. It was cute, I enjoyed reading it, but WHERE was the romance?! I did wonder a bit if it was just a male author being overly cautious writing a lesbian relationship, but it was incredibly chaste and disappointing if you were looking for a Romance.
