The not so funny joke I tell is, slow down the voting in Cuyahoga county, rule the world.

Seemed really bad to me 25 years ago that Ohio politicians simply ignored State Supreme Court rulings that school funding was unconstitutional. Between that and all the games they play to make voting in cities as hard as possible, Ohio seemed like an anti-democratic laboratory.

Defeating him in the original Street Fighter at the Colma 7-11 was one of the highs of my life.

I think it started as a goof on the Daily Show many years ago. Became a quick gag to mix in.

I was attending Marina Middle School when that was all happening. That whole period was like being in the eye of a hurricane.
My mom and I moved there so she could find some peace. So many beautiful, happy people just wanting to live their lives.
I miss that city.

Is there a rating system for consumers to avoid using the "wrong" AI tool, which has a higher probability of "hallucination"?
These all seem like programmatic sociopathy.
ChatGPT, build me an app that tells my customers what they want to hear, so I can better ensure they return.

Peak NYT for me was another trip home reading the complete published decision of Hustler Magazine v. Falwell there going home on the California St Cable Car. Was most likely giving off mad Joker vibes with my laughter.

I remember riding the bus home from working the graveyard shift at the Colma 7-11, reading the New York Times' detailed lyrical analysis of Welcome to the Terrordome thinking how comically rediculous they were in trying to stir up shit.

Their addiction to scale is like watching an 0(n!) algorithm come to life with terrifying consequences. Have we always been a cult? Did I miss it when I started in startups 27 years ago?
Very grateful for the hopeful epilogue of how it can be done right. It doesn't have to be this way.

My Papaw religiously watched that show. He worked in a MASH unit in World War Two. He said he was Klinger.

Yep. All ride-hail services, robotaxi or not, are incredibly inefficient use of road space
Average passengers per robotaxi is 0.7 per vehicle compared to 1.5 for cars, and 20 per bus
We need to reintroduce a medallion or congestion pricing model for ride-hail in general and robotaxis specifically

The FIRST question in 2025 about any new "innovation" has to be "how will fascist billionaires and politicians use this against us." This isn't academic. This is our world.

Wow, that sounds like an amazing concert, both from a program and a performance perspective.

Finally, the most important question I didn't ask was about the role of power.
"Power, I believe, functions like a psychological parasite.... it just wants more and more and more of itself," she says: 12/13

A huge part of our current problem is elected reps willfully ignoring that they work for the people, not the other way around. He can whine about it being "unfair" he's expected to do the job he explicitly campaigned for all he wants, but it's pretty unfair the people of PA are going unrepresented.
