This weekend is about "No Kings" but let's celebrate the Queens. For centuries, Friday the 13th was considered the day of the goddesses:

Waking up this morning with a "oh today can't possibly be as bad as yesterday" mentality, until I realize it's Friday the 13th. In 2025. Great. Just great. Nothing can possibly go wrong. ~ Molly, ed.

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature & God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be & that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.” ~ Anne Frank

“This is the stuff of dictatorship,” said Senator Brian Schatz, Democrat of Hawaii.

The words of my state Senator, Tina Smith, are rocking me. "If this is how they treat Alex Padilla, a United States Senator, how do you think they’ll treat you?" These aren't just words. This is a call to action to uphold our democracy and hold it dear. ~ Molly, ed.

James Baldwin once said, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

Anne Frank would be 96 today. "I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn." ~ Anne Frank Write your (he)art out. Share your story: elephantjournal.com/post

On her birthday, here's the only known footage of Anne Frank:

11. Learn not to settle.

There was a strange noise coming from the other room. I hesitantly opened the door and peeked inside, feeling both imminently brave and uncertain of what I would find. It was my cat, snoring. Stand down, everyone. ~ Molly, ed.

If illegal immigration were the concern, given that the immigrants pay into our economy and benefits without taking out said benefits...why aren't we going after the employers? Much easier and quicker.

We shall overcome—don't fall into Trump's Project '25 trap—he *wants* conflict he can magnify and lie about and bring down the hammer over. Peaceful resistance, good trouble, a fierce love for one another and our hard-won liberties!

Reality vs. propaganda.

"Look up" they say. Looking up this morning I saw a yellow butterfly, a robin, a forest of trees, & felt centered in the present. But then I nearly stepped on a frog because I didn't see the poor little dude. I'm officially conflicted & will be looking down the rest of the day for frogs. ~ Molly, Ed

The best definition, which is actually quite moving, of intelligence I’ve read in a long time. Read on. It’s got to do with humbleness, openness, curiosity—not solid thinking or ego.

“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” ~ Andy Warhol

"There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people." ~ William Adama

Hear, hear:

"Even if you don’t know how it’s going to be okay, even if you don’t really know what I’m so sad about, just hold me..."

"I effing told you so."

What happened to waxed paper, if we must use to-go?

“This woman’s response to a “smarter” man’s post-date text. My God.”

"Straight-talking Congressman" @ericswalwell.bsky.social

The moves align with a conservative playbook to reduce faculty power on campuses perceived by many on the right as bastions of liberal thought. This year, several other Republican-led states passed laws...

RIP to all the hours of our own lives that we've lost to the breakup of two of the world's most self-centered individuals. ~ Molly, ed.

“The good news, from a Buddhist point of view, is we don’t actually have to be hateful. We don’t have to be prejudiced. We can dissolve our hate, born of ignorance—by bringing in sunshine, education, empathy, and heart connection.” ~ Waylon Lewis

Editing an article this morning with the title, "Be Kind . . . of a Bitch." and I honestly feel so seen. ~ Molly, ed. [Article coming soon!]

Video, Podcast: My name isn’t Waylon “Lewis”—on anti-Semitism.

"Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told a room of A.I. leaders, lobbyists and lawmakers this week that the administration would invite foreign investment into A.I. data centers, reversing Biden administration restrictions."

Millions of Obamacare enrollees would lose health coverage under the Republicans’ major policy bill, which would make coverage more expensive and harder to obtain.

Meditate every morning, even two minutes to start, and change your mind, and change your life:

He should know. PS: and yet he backed him 1,000%.

Today I saw a pigeon cross the road. No, really. I did. I've been trying all day to think of a good joke about it, but I just keep thinking about that brave little pigeon taking its own sweet time to walk in front of the car, and the decent human being who stopped and waited patiently. ~ Molly, Ed.

"If I am to understand… …that you are enquiring whether I am of Jewish origin..."

Read? The Gazpacho Police and Peachtree Dish lady?

I live here. Boulder is strong in our love.

President Trump is intensifying his criticism of Senate Republicans who are threatening to jeopardize the passage of his domestic agenda.

I live in Boulder, which just suffered a hate crime from a mad man. A survivor of the Holocaust was among those grieviously harmed. We are not a headline, nor front page news. We are a community. Our care extends to what is being done to our country, too. We are strong in our love.
