The fact you said you had to "sound sympathetic" is soooo relatable. I think this is what trips a lot of people up re: understanding basic autistic output. You have to decide what an expression should look like because your expression doesn't necessarily match your feelings.

I disagree. I see why the comparison exists, but while invertase is found in both bee saliva and human saliva, bee saliva is not used to aid in digestion. It's ONLY used for turning nectar into honey. Humans specifically use saliva for digestion. So it's not spit in the same way we know it.
