Cradle Will Rock is still a really good movie

Being real about our vulnerability to triggers builds self-trust. If we're going to realistically, consistently trust & depend on ourselves, we need to know we're not going to blow off triggers because we're ashamed of our vulnerability. Vulnerability is not shameful.

Overheard: “I just made eye contact with the other half of the doughnut I ate so now I have to eat it.”

I'm at the library and I love it. You should go to the library.

guess what

It's the most wonderful time of the year

It’s another good day to do what we can. #photography

Sustainable trauma recovery means getting real clear & unashamed about what we need in this moment-- whether it's encouragement, a plan, or a hug. Our needs are going to shift moment to moment & trigger to trigger. We've gotta accept & roll w/ them-- no shame.

I hope everyone knows that it's very easy for any social content platform, including Bluesky, to be a misery machine and that if you aren't intentional about it, they will absolutely decrease the positive impact you have on the world while making you less happy.

every gender transition is a statement in favor of human possibility and freedom and i’m tired of hearing it talked about like it’s some kind of disease

As an anthropologist, if the only thing I ever did all day was remind people that before the privatization and commodification of land humans had way more free time and peace of mind, it would still not do a dent in how deep this myth has burrowed into people's colonized minds like a parasite

Today, May 1, is International Workers' Day! It commemorates the sentencing to death of eight anarchist workers in Chicago who were framed for throwing a bomb at police who attacked a strike demonstration in May 1886 shop.workingclasshistory.com/products/the...

Happy May Day, y’all

Yeah, well, it's tradition, and you don't fuck with tradition. www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1GD...

On this day in 1886, Lucy Parsons, a Black anarchist born into slavery, marched with her children at the front of one of the largest labor marches in US history, as workers across the country demanded the eight hour day. Two days later, striking workers were shot.

Happy May 1st. The value of your labor belongs to you and the actions of the state are best understood as as a coordinated effort to distract you from this. The state fears an organized and unified proletariat like it fears death and rightly so. Power to the workers and power to the people

Great book

Have you seen a dandelion today? Now you have.

We made a class war reading list for you.

Happy Hitler Shoots Himself In The Head day to all who celebrate. The 80th anniversary. May his ignominious end, with his body doused in petrol and burned by his last remaining loyalists, be a model for all tyrants.

There is only one real blasphemy - the refusal of joy!

Relating to the world & ourselves in ways that make us feel clear, purposeful, & independent aren't skills that come naturally to abuse survivors, but they're recovery skills we can develop-- IF we're willing to keep coming back to basics & taking baby steps without shame.

i realize the title is a bit counterintuitive but the answer is that you cannot as an individual guarantee your food is safe. we can, as a collective, push back HARD on dismantling food safety regulations, and put pressure on an unpopular administration to keep our food from killing us.

I want to *want* to write another pile of postcards for *something* of value But thats impossibly difficult to do for dems, when w every passing day of their catastrophic failures, it's harder to imagine ever voting for one again Like, to be harm reduction you have to meaningfully reduce harm

my reaction to this is not "oh Trump's losing it" it's "the entire point of fascism is that the leader declares reality and everyone else has to follow it".

Donald Trump is on pace to deport 243,000 people this year. It’s an absolutely horrifying number, and 79K less than the 322,000 people Obama deported in 2011

Anyway, be guided by your values and do your best. Good night everyone, take care.

This is how you do it

Abolish ICE

your child will toil valiantly in the factory. it will be masculine. it will restore our national character. it will make america great again. oh my child? my child will run a lucrative rightwing podcast

You're not having a rough time because you suck. You have strengths & vulnerabilities like everybody. Leveraging your strengths & managing your vulnerabilities means not getting distracted by or invested in Trauma Brain's anti-you bullsh*t. Refocus-- again & again. And again.

Reblog if you want your tranny lifestyle to lead to the death of western civilization.

Patience is an indispensable trauma recovery tool for the sole reason that changes that "stick" realistically take time & occur in increments. Trauma Brain really wants us to believe we "can't" stay focused & consistent long enough for meaningful change to "take." It is wrong.

People misunderstand compassion & validation as they apply to trauma recovery. They are not warm & fuzzy ways to make "excuses." They are clear eyed, reality oriented tools that empower us to face truths we've been tricked by trauma into denying & disowning for too long.

Happy 4/28 to everyone who celebrates

I had some clever line here about how we should all aspire to the expression on the chained model's face but then I looked up the artist's work and he rules so just go look and read. www.nearbycafe.com/artandphoto/...

I work in scam prevention. I want to call out something I really, really appreciated in the latest @leverageredemption.bsky.social episode: They stressed that the victim of the grandparent scam was extremely smart and capable, and that absolutely anyone can get got.

Don't exactly want to clown on anyone but I saw an anarchist group posting info using google docs Best we stay off surveilled corporate platforms for information delivery and use platforms like cryptpad.fr Share this site with those who could benefit and who may not know there are other options

happy trans people existing another day day ❤️
