Since Musk is spending millions of dollars to undo democracy and abortion access in Wisconsin, I urge anyone who can to donate to Susan Crawford’s campaign. The election is April 1. www.crawfordforwi.com?

Proud of the work my law firm did in this case! "An Arizona judge dismissed a lawsuit seeking to upend election policies in Yavapai County. The decision delivered a blow to a right-wing organization founded by Stephen Miller which brought the challenge." www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

"daddy, what did you do in the war" son, i archived all 6,793 videos from the Kennedy Center before they disappeared from the internet we all did our part

💥 BREAKING: At John Deere's annual shareholders meeting today, shareholders overwhelmingly rejected an anti-DEI proposal brought by the same group that targeted Costco and Apple. An anti-DEI proposal from the NCPPR received less than 1 percent of votes. Deere shareholders: DEI is in. Bigots are out

After 3 surgeries, a blood clot, infection & being hospitalized for over a week, the moment I was discharged I rushed to the airport so I could get on a plane to DC & vote NO on Republicans’ disastrous budget plan. Rep. Pettersen traveled from Colorado with her newborn son so she could vote NO. 🧵

Just in one year, just the clean air act, prevented hundreds of thousands of early deaths. The lowest possible estimate of the benefits found that benefits outweigh the costs by 3 to 1. The most likely estimate is 30 to 1. The high estimate is 90 to 1. Ninety. Nine Zero. www.epa.gov/clean-air-ac...

The most urgent item in @nevadaag.bsky.social new Model Immigration Policies is actually not new: Under Nevada law, police cannot arrest or detain people on immigration grounds, even if ICE asks. This has been NV law for more than a century, and the bipartisan NV AG interpretation for 40+ years.

Death is not the only outcome that matters when it comes to infectious disease. In the TX measles outbreak, 16 people have been hospitalized so far, which can be traumatizing for kids and financially destructive for their parents. Measles can also cause a variety of adverse outcomes such as…

Shout out to Egypt, Jordan, Maine governor Janet Mills, U. Maryland students, and everybody else who said FU to the wannabe dictator this week. Links below.

This month, Pope Francis wrote a powerful letter urging US bishops to defend immigrants and refugees. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has followed up w/action, suing the Trump admin over its halt of mandated funding for the US refugee program 👇🏽 americasvoicecnn.substack.com/p/us-confere...

In the depths of the Nebraskan winter, 2400 people came out to listen to Bernie Sanders in Omaha last night. 800 had to be turned away at the door. Over 190,000 tuned into the livestream. There is a movement to be harnessed here. @sanders.senate.gov (📸 Anna Bahr)

On Wednesday I was the first to report Leland Dudek was on the verge of losing his job at the Social Security Administration when he was suddenly promoted to acting commissioner by Elon Musk. Thursday I published a story with more details. I’ll let you guess if I got any credit in this Post story:

This is what obeying in advance looks like. The NSF fires 10% of its total staff in a move that went beyond what was requested by the current regime. The NSF is the flagship of US basic research infrastructure. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨🔋 www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

Gov. Mills showed precisely the sort of integrity in the face of political pressure that the majority of the party currently lacks. More importantly, she did so extemporaneously and without hesitation from a purple state where this isn't a universally popular position. www.maine.gov/governor/mil...

Guadalupe sent this pic to us from the Soledad CA area on a cold rainy day. Farm workers were out pruning the grapevines despite the weather. #WeFeedYou

It's pretty cool that Eater put together resources for restaurants about how to handle ICE raids

I feel like we're going to see a lot of stories like this.

The Trump/Musk War on Diversity has claimed the jobs of federal sign language interpreters becuase they work in programs labeled “DEI" Now there aren’t enough ASL interpreters and Deaf federal workers, including many who are veterans with service-related hearing loss, are screwed.

Elon and DOGE are firing thousands of hard-working federal workers who do vital work for our communities and keep the programs that working families rely on running. We want to hear your story. How have you been impacted? act.aflcio.org/forms/share-...

Our group has been hard at work to release a new tool: The Data Rescue Tracker. The tool aims to provide a consolidated overview of who is downloading which dataset from which government websites. Please share! www.datarescueproject.org/data-rescue-...

Happy Congressional recess week! In honor of it, I put together a tracker of every vote the US House has taken so far this year. Which Democrats are standing up to Trump's agenda and which are being willful accomplices? docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

The NAACP is re-mixing 1930s-era "don't buy where you can't work" campaigns to confront the neo-segregationists targeting DEI. apnews.com/article/blac...

There’s a Project 2025 tracker to follow their progress and to see what’s ahead. The project Trump and the GOP disavowed because it was so unpopular and then began immediately to put in place. www.project2025.observer

We have Musk protest events popping up at Tesla showrooms and plants all over the country and many more here and worldwide. Join or create your own event at Teslatakedown.com

Farmers who signed contracts w USDA under IRA programs paid upfront to build fencing, plant new crops, install renewable energy systems w guarantees that feds would issue grants/loan guarantees to cover at least part of their costs. Trump has frozen that money www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...

mass deportations are some of the most economically inefficient cruelty known to man paying millions of dollars to detail & expel employees, fathers, grandmothers, caretakers, etc. is a double cost: not only is it expensive but it also eliminates a productive members of our society and economy

On a day like this, it’s important to say THANK YOU to all the science and public health communicators for all you do. Your work will be even more critical in the coming years. Keep going! You are very much needed and appreciated. ❤️

The University of Virginia has created a website of archived government websites—bookmark it—you’re going to need it later. guides.lib.virginia.edu/c.php?g=1451...

Some good news at least. All webpages do look like they're currently back online 🥳 "The order includes more than a dozen CDC and FDA webpages that were specifically mentioned in the lawsuit. That includes the social vulnerability index and environmental justice index ..."

The big takeaway here is that Reuters won this case against the AI company on grounds they violated fair use—the judge found the AI company was guilty because, in using copyrighted works to generate its output, it “meant to compete... by developing a market substitute.” Huge.

"Illinois also became the first state to outlaw private immigrant detention centers in 2019; two years later, the state further limited the number of beds available for ICE to detain immigrants in the state with a law that blocked sheriffs from contracting with ICE..."

In addition to the good news THIS IS A SIGN THAT PRESSURE WORKS Don’t give in to fascists when you still have the option of resisting 🧪

Because in the United States, it’s legal to feed chicken shit to cattle. That’s why. That’s literally the reason www.telegraph.co.uk/global-healt...

I’m here at Pasadena City Hall, where hundreds of Pasadena high school students across multiple campuses self-organized a rally after a collective mass walkout and march against deportations. Now chanting “From Palestine to Mexico, All the walls have got to go” 🇵🇸🇲🇽🔥

Good to see: Unions representing USAID workers are suing Trump, Rubio and the State Department, seeking a halt to the mass removals of USAID workers, which appears to be unlawful in multiple ways and is already having terrible humanitarian consequences around the world:

Georgia Republicans propose a drastic voter suppression bill. If this is enacted, Georgia will be sued and it will lose.

Importantly, these are *civil* actions under the Privacy Act of 1974, i.e. individuals can file suit and Trump can’t pardon defendants.
