I may be something of a sweet summer child, but I am also the child of people whose response to authoritarianism, terror, and violence is committing to stay angry and fight, and refuse to surrender. Whenever I feel exhausted, I think of the years they survived.

You are allowed to celebrate good things that are happening today: your birthday, a book coming out, new baby, new puppy, seeing your favorite piece of art in person, etc. Joy is the knife that stabs into the heart of despair & apathy. Feel your joys, big & small, & share them widely & loudly.

It could also empower parties outside the duopoly! A party can promise to donate its votes if it's not winning, to prevent another party to win. That way voting for the party you acually like won't make it so you're just wasting your vote

Idk if that's possible with american politics, but wouldn't it be nice to have anti-parties? Like an Anti-Trump party, so you can vote against him without endorsing Harris. And if Trump is winning, it can donate its vote to Harris so Trump loses.
