Latest comic: A simple plan

i have argued before that MAGA is recapitulating antebellum pro-slavery ideas about citizenship and bodily autonomy. one thing i am also thinking about, when it comes to the rendition of people to a foreign gulag, is the way it is reminiscent of the kidnapping of free blacks for sale into slavery

I've said many times they would legalize slavery if they thought they could get away with it. And here we are.

i don't know how we come back from this www.nytimes.com/2025/04/11/w...

This is what its like to work in the Trump administration now. When a career official objected to declaring that living immigrants were dead on legal and ethical grounds, security guards went to his office and told him to leave. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

It’s even worse than the headline sounds. They want to make part of the torture slave labor prison in El Salvador US territory. This is getting very dark.

I think a lot of what they're doing - deliberate provocative illegality followed by brazen noncompliance with courts - amounts to a program of acclimatising people to a post-legal government; training the public to accept their tacit declaration that they no longer consider themselves bound by law.

Every day I discover a brand new reason to hate this motherfucker

Here is an up to date list of Big Law collaborators along with how much in free legal services they have pledged to Trump's causes. Paul Weiss 40M Cadwalader 100M Milbank 100M Skadden Arps 100M Willkie Farr 100M A&O Shearman 125M Kirkland & Ellis 125M Latham & Watkins 125M Simpson Thacher 125M

Weird how they keep saying they can barely afford to make any TV shows or movies and then this keeps happening. variety.com/2025/tv/news...

EEOC agrees to drop pending enforcement letters against law firms that pledged major dollars to Trump "pro bono" fund. We now live in a country where making a payment to the ruler's slush fund lets you buy your way out of regulatory difficulty.

Shameful. Shameful shameful shameful. Most of these people are in danger in their home country because they helped American interests.

I’m glad people are out there asking the important questions about emerging technologies. Such as “why DO so many AI company logos look like bum holes?” velvetshark.com/ai-company-l...

The privatization of Social Security moving forward, I see...

Adolf Hitler's “Mein Kampf” is still on U.S. Naval Academy shelves. “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and “Memorializing the Holocaust” are not. An order by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s office led to a purge of books that are critical of racism — but preserved volumes defending white power.

The guy also has a „panzer“ tattoo.
