I loved this. Been trying to find something to get into in this vein ever since. Any suggestions?

We had this once at Frankie and Benny's. The waiter memorised and correctly recited back 10 complicated and actually quite fussy orders, to the point where he got a round of applause from the table like some kind of street magician. 20 minutes later I'd never seen an order ballsed up so badly.

I believe I ordered some copies of PGGD for the library, but not aware how much they're being used, sorry. A lot of our modules don't have fixed reading lists any more. Instead we just try to have a few copies of each of a range of good titles to be used by students as the need arises.

Makes sense. In that case the classic lathed wooden chess piece style works well. Kind of timeless.

These lists are brilliant. I reckon you could get enough people to make a thread of the most unhinged examples. Here's one from mine, complete with later confusion: "CSI but with philosophers -- what?!" Obviously written while drunk-tired 😂

Looks good, but thematically, how about "evil mushrooms" inspired by the mushrooms you get in billiards? www.hamiltonbilliards.com/wp/wp-conten...

Anything by Montola and Stenros is a good read, especially if you are into LARPs and pervasive games. This one mentions my work at one point but is not why I recommended it by the way!! 😜

Best Christmas present I ever got as a kid was a C64 Light Fantastic pack (with SEUCK and the Johnny Ball tapes!) plus some local shop's 6 pack of choice games: IO, Cybernoid 2, Octapolis, Flying Shark, Espionage plus one other I forget. Whoever made that pack 100% knew their shit.
