The shock in 2015-2017 was realizing the worst I had seen was dorment in a large swath of the public. I always knew people were more hateful in private, in the company of those they thought shared their views, but it was shamelessness that allowed the hate to come to the surface.

It's certainly behavior his bloodthirsty cult members are hoping for. Trump has always been vicious and self-serving. Now he feels half the country is on his side, no matter how far he takes it. I see this delusion in everything he says or writes.

There are only two ways to stop what we all know is about to happen: resort to Jan 6 tactics ourselves, or wait until Republicans turn on Trump. The former is not a place I want to go, and the latter is out of our hands. Persuasion became obsolete in 2015.

Trump will probably promise a pardon to anyone who assassinates one or more on his enemies list, then nominate them for a cabinet position. Soon, this will be the standard for demonstrating the loyalty he requires, as well as the consequences to anyone he decides has been disloyal.

Musk's position will be the most troublesome. It seems he'll need to wrestle the power of the purse from the Congress to the executive branch. We've already seen shit happen that would have been unimaginable 8 yrs ago. Trump's 1st admin included mostly institutionists who would only go as far as...

It is certain Trump and his dangerous accomplices will push their sick agenda as far as it can go by manipulating, bullying and destabilizing the democratic institutions we count on to uphold our rights, and beyond that they will try to replace them with authoritarian institutions.

...do rule such draconian measures don't violate the letter of the constitution. I'm fearful parents will be rounded up for deportation and put in a position where bringing all their minor children to a country these kids have never lived in will be their only viable option.

Let's hope that will stop this attempt to circumvent constitutional right before it erodes to the point it is meaningless. Trump first big foray into Manhattan real estate was buying a partial share of the land beneath the Empire State Building. He tried to bully, coerce and extort the building owners and even his own partner in the land deal. Trump never achieved his desired ends, but the small gain the land...

The push to marginalize "others" will work like a staph infection. Once it finds even a small scratch, it gets in the blood and debilitates the entire body. It will start at the state or municipal level. Benefits for birthright kids will be denied because the parents are ineligible. School...

Rosa sat next to my kid on the bus, and he came home with cooties and listening to rap music. It took months to beat it out of him. He had to go to Pray the Black Away Camp. I hope he never sits next to anyone LGBT on the bus, or a college grad or a Liberal. The world is a dangerous place.

Russian election interference around the globe changed since the Soviet Union amplified workers' grievances against the ruling class, hoping to spark Communist revolutions in fledgling nations that had just decolonized. They need not promote a single, radical ideology. They push every radical agenda

Oh, by the way, Paul Manafort and Roger Stone advised Yanukovic on political calculations that would give him a chance to survive when the consequences of his deal with the devil became obvious. Steve Banon would later encourage the same in W European countries, but the fringe right wasn't viable.
