ok hear me out. what if trolls are kinda like termites. the mothergrubs are biological females, trolls are biological males (hence the same genitalia and inability to reproduce with eachother) and drones are like a third type in the same species that cannot reproduce and only aids reproduction?

not sure they were in a "situationship"... it was more like equius being both disgusted and turned out by gamzee, a highblood, acting like he doesnt care about caste and gamzee seemed oblivious about that. maybe more like a little confused kind-of-crush on equius' side.
