Official production photography of the Australian cast of The Lord of the Rings: A Musical Tale by Daniel Boud ✨️ The tour wrapped up the first stop in Sydney earlier this month, and will resume in Perth on 19 March.

Sharing this here somewhat belatedly - the new stage adaptations calendar is out! It features lots of American Hobbit plays, the end of the LotR Musical's first Australian tour stop, and the Belarus premiere of the Finrod rock opera - and more.

Since attending TolkienCon last month, my love for this wonderful little Czech theatre group has grown even stronger. Their musicals are unique, show a deep understanding of Tolkien's work, they're often heartbreaking, yet not without some lightheartedness. And all of it happens in a tiny gym <3

Just a little fennec fox but it’s dressed up as TROP Elrond 🦊 #art

Watched The Lord of the Rings Musical tonight - honestly very impressed! Nicely truncated retelling of the LOTR trilogy. Awesome presentation. Incredible cast, all of whom can somehow sing, act, dance AND play musical instruments simulatenously (the orchestra IS the cast??). Do recommend it 👍

Who is your celebrity “Birthday Twin” (born same day as you)? Answer with pic or gif only.

An excellent overview of the countless productions of The Last Trial going on right now. I'm really looking forward to Portal's concert in February and Skazki's premiere of the alternative ending 😄 Gorizont acquiring a new license is exciting news too.

time to post some of my art backlog from tumblr/insta! my big tribute piece to the original 2023 revival of the LOTR musical at the watermill. #lotrmusical #thelordoftheringsamusicaltale #lotr #lordoftherings #lordoftheringsmusical

Day one of '25 and I'm getting weepy thinking about Aragorn and Arwen in the LotR musical, cheers.

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year ✨️ The first Tolkien Stage Adaptations Calendar post of 2025 is out now, featuring 7 stage shows in 7 countries! From pantos to puppetry plays to musicals to rock operas, Middle-earth is represented in many different ways.

Two weeks left of Taru sormusten herrasta in Tampere, Finland! A visually stunning play with beautiful music and gender-blind casting, positively reviewed by three Finnish friends of mine :) fingers crossed for a revival. 📸 Mikko Karsisto, Maria Atosuo

Such a magical performance! Everyone was at their very best, and the new Sauron is absolutely terrifying (in a good way). Fingers crossed for "Sing, Wind, Sing" next time...!

"Where are you going?" A little painting that just happened.

Some more gorgeous Hobbit-centric shots from The Lord of the Rings: A Musical Tale in Aotearoa ✨️ From Chicago to Auckland, this wonderful cast has brought Hobbit-y joy to so many. Happy trails! 📸 Liam Newth

Whenever you see a post that is painfully ignorant, ask yourself if there's a better use of your energy than dunking on it. There almost certainly is. Whether they've laid it there as purposeful bait or not, you're so much better off channeling the energy into something productive.

The December edition of the Tolkien Stage Adaptations Performance Calendar has been published! This month, you can see the Hobbit, LotR and the Silmarillion in the US, Canada, Aotearoa, Germany, Russia and Finland ✨️

My friend Kathrin is streaming the Czech Silmarillion musical ✨️ The Fall of Doriath ✨️ this Saturday at 6.30pm CET and on Sunday at 10am CET. The chat will be in English. I'd love to see you there! Links and more information here: www.tumblr.com/a-mountain-h...

When people encounter my Tolkien stage adaptations performance calendar, they're often surprised by what I include. So - Shows that ARE stage adaptations: - children's plays - amateur productions - parodies - unlicensed shows - non-English shows - stage shows without a live audience

this is how I post to BlueSky:
