Incredible news. After immense pressure and threats of protest, Children's Wisconsin has reinstated treatment for at least one trans teen under its care. Several hospitals across the country determined their fear of Trump's illegal EO was more important than their trans patients.

These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.

Personally, the best way to gauge someone's political alignment is to determine their opinion on libraries without calling it one. An unfettered system of access to resources to use and learn from, with no identification required, based entirely on a system of trust, funded by everyone.

I cannot stop thinking about every disabled person who can’t evacuate these SoCal fires, whether it’s because they physically can’t leave or they don’t have the resources to. When we say our systems are designed to leave disabled folks behind to die, this is a prime example.
