“Oh, did a sportsball happen?” I whisper smugly from my vantage point on a distant cliff, the sounds of celebration in the village far below just barely audible over the lonely wind whipping my tattered cloak

Which owl is winning?

And Jesus said: “Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God". Matthew 19:24

Today was rough, but I'm going home to bookmail. So that's great.

Do better, Greenville. Good grief.

I get to see Jaime French's live show tonight!!!! I GOT MEET AND GREET TICKETS!! (Jaime, bestie, please get on Bluesky so I can @ you)

I'm looking to form a support group for people trying to read this specific book

It's that time

I'm curious about a disconnect I'm seeing in my students who love to read and write. They struggle to translate the patterns they see in the books they read to their own writing--things like how to format dialogue. Or breaking a story into more than one long paragraph. What's happening?

It struck me today that every work of dystopian fiction I've ever read involves a future without books. Maybe that's all it takes.

The Roanoke Rambler published this poem I wrote in the wake of Hurricane Helene. #Poem #poet #Helene

Just a reminder. The library is free to use. Free to check out books and DVDs. Free to take your kid to Story Time. Free to ask a question. Free to sit quietly for a minute. Or an hour. #supportyourlocallibrary

This is a slap in the face to American women. Pete Hegseth has a track record of disrespecting women service members, and multiple credible sexual assault allegations. Our troops deserve better.

First poem acceptance of the year!!!! They took a poem from my first collection 🥹

If you are experiencing The Horrors in light of The Current Events, I highly recommend watching Flannigan's Fall of the House of Usher. It will give you The Cathartic Horrors.

Severence is the best show I've seen after Better Call Saul. Everything about it is perfect. An obsession- worthy series.

i think the executive orders directing agencies to end energy efficiency regulations and open up more land to drilling and mining is so indicative of the character of the american right — in its view everything, whether people or our larger environment, is something to be exploited and dominated

Kyrie eleison.

I hope you’ll join me in the Cool Person challenge (being a Cool Person by getting a library card, lengthening your attention span and sharpening your mind through extensive reading)

End of the year poetry publishing update ☺️🤗 Thanks to everyone who cheered me on this year. www.instagram.com/reel/DETeFxo...

Happy new year!! I wrote my 96th-100th poems of the year (all haiku) in the last two hours before midnight 😅

Merry Christmas, y'all!

Tonight is my first Lessons and Carols service since I joined the Anglican Church. 😊

I'm not normally the conspiratorial sort, but I really don't think Luigi did it.

I don't think I want a new year this time around, I want a gently used year like a 2015 or maybe a 1998 if it's in good shape idk
