Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

We must all stand as a united front against the kidnapping and illegal detention of Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. Senator, I am willing to join you and help Organize other members of the House to do the same. @vanhollen.senate.gov

It is the fourth calf born to the southern resident orcas since December. Two of the four have died already. (via @kuow.org)

What do these corporations have in common? Netflix Ford Tesla T-Mobile Duke Energy DISH Network Metlife Dominion Energy United States Steel In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes. This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Because he has already lost $500B in revenues through IRS cuts, he is actually COSTING the country about $400B. Some efficiency there! www.msn.com/en-gb/money/...

This is EXACTLY how an opposition party fights back! THANK YOU, @vanhollen.senate.gov! Thank you for keeping this gross violation of due process and civil rights in the news! I can't tell you how much it means to see you fight like this. I'm so grateful for my Senators.

According to 60 Minutes research, 90% of people sent to brutal El Salvadoran prison have NO criminal record. This is deeply upsetting. They sent another plane full yesterday. Bombard the WH with calls (202) 456-7041. And your Reps. 1 202 224 3121 Everyone deserves a hearing. That is the law.

In retrospect, it continues to seem like a really bad decision by the New York Times to push out Paul Krugman, their longtime columnist who won his Nobel Prize in the economics of trade and geography right before we have 4 years where trade policy is the #1 crisis in the country.

How much you wanna bet that soon we’ll find out it’ll cost $100 billion or some such amount to fix everything he broke?

Chasten and I are relieved that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe. While we wait to learn more, this much is clear: the targeting of a public official and his family - especially a prominent Jewish official on a major Jewish holiday - is unconscionable and has no place in our country.

AOC: How can anyone possibly make an objective vote on healthcare, energy, or war when their personal wealth is tied up in pharmaceutical, oil and gas, or defense company stock?

Jasmine Crockett 🔥🔥🔥 "All I kept hearing was 'fire.' ... They are lighting the Social Security on fire, Medicaid on fire, Medicare on fire, 401ks on fire, Department of Education on fire ..." Meanwhile, their incompetent leader has already wasted $26 million taxpayer dollars playing golf!

The first step in policy analysis is figuring out what's going wrong. And by my view, we're facing two crises: A tariff crisis, and a crisis of confidence built upon fears incompetence. Let me lay it out, wonk it out and math it out. (I get a bit testy because I think this stuff really matters.)

Today House Republicans, cheered on by the richest person on Earth, passed a budget framework that will cut support for the poorest people in our country. All while cutting taxes for corporations and the wealthy, and massively increasing the deficit.

I was a social security recipient from the age of 12 through 18. That’s not some weird thing or corruption. It’s called survivors’ benefits. You don’t have to know this. You’re blessed if you don’t. But if you’re going to speak publicly abt the program you need to know this.

The EPA ordered the virtual elimination of a 15-year-old federal program that requires thousands of power plants, oil refineries, cement factories and other large industrial facilities to publicly report their greenhouse gas emissions, according to two people briefed on the decision.

New Pete Buttigieg podcast just dropped! #TeamPete Link: open.spotify.com/episode/7Fnl...

yeah man, please make my 85 year old great aunt prove her citizenship to vote in rural georgia, this definitely isn’t reminiscent of anything in the american past

Kinda wild how they knew the causes and effects of climate change even back in 1912 and yet, over a century later, your average MAGA moron will claim climate change is a “hoax” while simultaneously claiming the earth is flat. Make it make sense!!🥴🤦‍♀️

This is what a real president looks like. 🙌🙏💪👏👊👇

BREAKING -- Republicans just cut funding for the Affordable Care Act (ACA). That's right. $880 BILLION cut from ACA and Medicaid -- to pay for a billionaire tax cut -- raising the cost of healthcare for 119.3 million Americans. Are you one of them?

I feel calmer and smarter after listening to this episode of The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart ... featuring Pete Buttigieg. youtu.be/4rHKwHQUa78?...

BREAKING: Women may no longer be able to vote if their birth certificates don't match married names. You know in The Handmaid's Tale when Gilead suddenly eliminates women's bank accounts in one fell swoop? That's what Republicans in Congress are doing to women's voting rights.

Under new voting bill, if a married woman has a different name from the one on her birth certificate she cant vote. Dear Sisters, don’t take your husband’s name

Forcing people to pay $130 for a passport in order to vote is just a Jim Crow poll tax by another name. It is blatantly unconstitutional.

First JPMorgan, now MetLife keeps its 60% recession call — titling today’s note “Damaged Goods”: “Even if there is a near-term resolution of the tariff and other trade issues, damage has been done to the economy and to consumer expectations.”

The 10% tariff alone is a $2500 per household annual tax hike!

BREAKING via Spectrum News: Federal agents tried to question kids at two elementary schools in Los Angeles but were denied entry. The agents said they had parental permission but that was a lie.

The U.S. House of Representatives voted Thursday to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, a major voter suppression measure that, if it became law, could disenfranchise millions of eligible voters and badly undermine U.S. democracy. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

BREAKING: The House will vote on the SAVE Act today. If this bill becomes law, millions of American citizens could be blocked from voting. 1/

Sanders: Tariffs used selectively are a good idea if they're going to protect American jobs. But to arbitrarily, out of nowhere, come up with a tariff that they can't even justify or explain to virtually every country on Earth is absolutely counterproductive

Pete nails it. Tariffs are a tax!

As I said a couple days ago - pics or it didn’t happen

He just testified all morning about the reasons why the tariff policy was going to make America great. Then he checked his phone and realized everything he just said was canceled on Truth Social.

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA): "I'm writing to the White House to demand who knew in advance that the President was going to, once again, flip flop on tariffs. And are people cashing in? There is just all too much opportunity for people in the White House and the administration to be insider trading"

"It's a good thing that you withdrew those tariffs! A very good thing! It was your plan all along!"
