My mum is a bit like this! I find Not on the High Street good for personalised presents - I've bought a bag, jewellery, home bits and bobs like a tealight holder, all with her initials/the family's names on.

After undergrad, I've moved for my GT (Cambridge), to get my MA (Sheffield), again to get my first job (Luton), and then again to get to where I am now (York). All 4 have been great to me in different ways but it's expensive and time consuming to be pingponging around the country every few years!

Hi, I'm a frequent player in the UK, if your spouse would like a new overseas friend?

Ah yes that would cause problems 😂 It's my cousin's name so we probably won't use it either. But it's very hard to have this conversation as OH doesn't think any boys' names are as good as his own 🙃

Might be too late now, but yes you absolutely can block people! Three dots in the right-hand corner when you're on their profile.

Can't help on the logistics side as I was too young, but my dyspraxic sister rode for years with them and it made such a difference to her balance and co-ordination.

Fully just laughed out loud at that.

Every chance you've already read these, but:
Bad Blood by John Carreyrou
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
We Keep The Dead Close by Becky Cooper
People Who Eat Darkness by Richard Lloyd Parry
Currently reading Empire of Pain by Patrick Radden Keefe and really liking it.

I was an absolute fiend for doing this in shops as a child - once drove my grandparents nearly insane by hiding behind all the paint cans in B&Q.

I read and reread 'A Small Pinch of Weather' as a child.

Much more comedic than the Sopranos, but we really love Only Murders in the Building on Disney+

We are EVERYWHERE. Possibly nominative determinism as Saint Catherine is the patron saint of libraries and librarians.

These definitely exist but seem to mostly be marketed at children. Couldn't find a pair big enough.

As someone who grew up in the county of Rutland, this took a lot of Googling to decode!
