Eager compliance in advance, caving and meekly obeying, only increases the authoritarians' contempt for you. No matter how many boots you lick, it will never be enough. And one day, you wake up and realize there's nothing left around you but more boots.

Yes, that's not what transgenic is. These are models for transgender healthcare. Burying trans people in this story by saying "it's transgenic what dummies they are!" does not us. It erroneously refocuses the state's attacks elsewhere. Arguably, helping the state via misinfo, hence my frustration.

Scientists ๐Ÿงช then need to *DEFEND* research with animal models of gender affirming hormone therapy. If not for the unjust targeting of trans people, or for the fact such research benefits cis people too, then maybe for the continuation of their own damn research.

Paraphrasing here - Tuberville asked about research into trans health and Bhattacharya say NIH should not be focusing on ideas that affect very few Americans. Researchers who work on trans health have had their funding pulls.

This is not the first time this year this research has come up with these talking points ... I'm saying these things as a colleague asking for your help. I promise it's not about transgenic mice. I wish you the best as well. mace.house.gov/media/in-the...

As someone doing this research, and wanting to do so for the rest of my career to help improve the current state of transgender health, it is more helpful to have people acknowledge that this work exists and fight for its right to.

He's not referring to transgenic mice. He's referring to mouse models of gender affirming hormone therapy/other mouse models related to trans health, which do exist & received federal funding, at least until now.
