It is so telling that in this day and age that's what they think are the priorities. Then again when your policies are barely distinguishable from those of Gilead in Handmaid's Tale that should come as no surprise.
Meanwhile they busy themselves worshiping the orange antichrist himself.

Me either, but I'm doing everything I can to outlive him. Unfortunately the orange shit stain he has spattered this country with like a bad case of amoebic dysentery will, as you point out, last for decades more.

It happened for Obama, it happened for Trump the first time, it'll happen again. He's probably hoping that martial law in place and maintained until 2026 will save him by keeping non-Trump voters from the polls.

Like many MAGA who hate their fellow Americans more than they hate themselves, Trump's BBW (Big Birthday Wish) is to kill a bunch of liberals on his birthday. It's surprising he isn't staging it on 5th Avenue.

I'm actually surprised that Musk hasn't tracked down a bunch of people locked into Trump NDAs and loosened their tongues with a sizeable injection of ca$h.

I'm disappointed that Newsom isn't using his time in the spotlight to highlight the LA invasion by MAGA as a diversion tactic from Trump's divorce from Musk and public outing for his leading role in the Epstein files. He can deny it but until he releases the file it'll never help.

Those who have accepted Orange Jesus as their personal lord and savior are antichrist-ians - their orange angel fits descriptions of an antichrist very well: "the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and who exalts himself over every so-called god or object of worship"

That's awfully Christian of you Mike. What are you going to do next, burn people at the stake for denying the unholy spirit that is Trump?

So not specifically about religion. Got it. While snarky folks like me say "nothing fails like prayer" it has been scientifically proven to have a placebo effect in some cases although personally I think pins in a voodoo doll might have an even stronger placebo effect... ๐๐๐

My first thought was "Oh, there's an atheist in the White House?"
Thankfully my company would not allow that kind of **** to go on.

You should subtract the tens of millions of US "Christians" who are actually Trumpians / Antichristians and Christian in name only.

Unfortunately their current CIC is just itching to get blood on his hands. Or rather blood on someone else's hands because he's a weasely coward who dodged service with made up bone spurs.

They go into actual war zones, put themselves in real danger, and manage not to slay civilians "because I was afwaid" even when said civilians are not sympathetic to their presence. I'm almost certain no Marine wants to be part of the first massacre of American civilians on American soil.

It is legal to refuse and order you believe is unconstitutional. I hope they know their constitution and the rights of We The People. Regardless our armed forces are generally nothing like the brutalist rent-a-Nazi thugs MAGA has been recruiting to do their bidding so far.

And I use the word "entertained" in the loosest sense of showing up to the theaters or streaming platforms to see it. Perhaps the makers worry that true depictions of the struggle would inevitably fuel the fires of discontent and desire for change. So instead they focus on manufacturing consent.
comment in response to

Someone should categorize fictional TV shows and movies by socioeconomic status and genre. I think every single genre would be dominated by stories of the top quintile or richer. The struggle is real but no one believes the majority of We The People want to hear about it or be entertained by it.

I appreciate his desire to red-pill the evangelists although he might want to work on his teaching method. It is rarely productive to try and free minds by using the same coercive scare tactics that were used to ensnare them in the first place. But hey, at least it got a lot of people talking.

I mean it isn't like anyone is rushing to bring Netanyahu to justice to answer for the charges he already has, and that there aren't a dozen surrogates ready to take over from him - with more US $$$ to support them.
As ever my hat is off to Greta for making the effort. I truly hope it helps.
comment in response to

Perhaps Greta will have sparked enough interest to have the ICC et al. continue to challenge the sea blockade and the resulting international intercepts? Sadly though even if decisively ruled illegal I'm struggling to think of which navy would step in to break the blockade. Not the US for sure.
comment in response to
post
I know there was a November 2024 judgement against Netanyahu and Gallant which included "starvation as a method of warfare" among the crimes but AFAIK didn't specifically rule the sea blockade illegal. Given nations are allowed to enforce blockades in international waters there's another loophole.
comment in response to
post
International law gives Israel wiggle to room to claim a) they are at war and b) the blockade is for more than just starving the Palestinians. Both those are disputed claims and seems to be the root of the ICC not ruling against Israel - that I'm aware of - despite looking several times.
comment in response to

If I consider myself a humanist I think there's way too many inhumanists in the world and in particular dictating policy against Palestinians. Inhumanists may not be a word in the dictionary but perhaps it should be?
comment in response to

Your statement serves to remind us being an atheist is no guarantee of being a what most people would regard as a "good" person. I am much more in favor of the label "secular humanist" now and define myself by how I choose to live and act vs. rejection of what others choose to believe.

I respect everyone's right to autonomy, freedom from violence, terrorism, and genocide. If the Catholics in Northern Ireland and the British worked it out anyone should be able to. Unfortunately Israel is showing they don't want to work it out with peace, they just want to "eliminate the problem".

We are entering into a new era of religion creation as DJT will surely be beatified aka deified by his followers when he eventually shed his revolting mortal coil. So step aside Mormons and your ridiculous original story, here comes the Church of Trump. Let's just call them Morons.

To actually deliver aid I think Gretta should take a leaf out of drug smuggler's books and use those giant autonomous submarines that cartels use next time. That's assuming Israel hasn't mined the beaches or completely cut them off from civilians.
comment in response to
post
Although hotly debated international law does seem to legitimize the blockade so interception was pretty much inevitable. Since the goal of the flotilla was ultimately for publicity I think Israel just fulfilled that nicely. We need to keep a spotlight on Israel's starvation of Palestinians!

They forgot to list MAGA as a religion. It would be really interesting to see how many would pick that over the other options. Ditto for "who do you worship" if it included Trump.
