BREAKING NYT: Pete Hegseth's personal phone number — the one used in a recent Signal chat — was easily accessible on the internet and public apps as recently as March, potentially exposing national security secrets to foreign adversaries. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/25/u...

heads up, twin cities: nasty weather headed this way on monday (i don't think i've ever seen a weather email *from the city* before, so this is significant)

Not a single international cargo ship at the Port of Seattle. The port is dead. The last ship from China will dock at a West coast port on the 29th, and the last Chinese ship will dock on the East coast around May 10th. After that, there will be no more shipments arriving from China. We’re screwed.

Got a phone call from the city (?!) alerting me to tornadoes and large hail tomorrow causing widespread damage and power outages, so if you’re not on the list for phone calls from the City of Minneapolis, heads up on that

My fellow Canadians... "Once you concede even a little with abortion, you have conceded it all; it’s just a matter of time. I have watched this unfold over the past 30 years in the U.S., so please, don’t let me be the Canadian abortion Cassandra."

Thank you everyone who came out! Huge thanks to @thewaroncars.bsky.social @ourstreetsmn.org @brooklynspoke.bsky.social @sgoodyear.bsky.social @joyfulridersclub.bsky.social @perennialcycle.bsky.social and Bonesaw for this awesome event. We have more DJ rides this summer and hopefully all rain free!

WISCONSIN: The chair of the elections commission, a lawyer, breaks down what actually happened using the actual complaint. Arresting judges like this is a wild fast-forwarding of our plunge into authoritarianism.

Judge says 2-year-old US citizen appears to have been deported with ‘no meaningful process’ politi.co/42TgorF

ICE can enter anyone’s home, and abduct and deport them to a foreign prison indefinitely because the DOJ says they can ignore the 4th, 5th and 15th amendments. If there’s no due process or protections against illegal search and seizures, none of us are safe.

Kinda insane and shows how afraid the networks are of upsetting this administration that a guy who killed 7 people and wounded 48 with “47” literally tattooed on his face has all but been forgotten like there’s still not a very serious threat emanating from every pore of this pathetic cult

NEW: For months, @juliaangwin.com and I have been interviewing foreign dissidents and opposition leaders. Today The New Yorker published our practical guide to courage in Trump's age of fear. If you want to oppose authoritarianism, but fear for your job, freedom, or way of life, this is for you 🧵:

In the wake of what Judge Dugan did (100% legal), now is a good time for everyone to know what she knows: An immigration or administrative warrant is *not* a judicial warrant. You are not obliged to obey it. Indeed, you can let the person out the back door. docs.google.com/presentation...

Bondi declares war on the courts: "What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me ... they are deranged ... we are sending a very strong message today ... we will come after you and we will prosecute you. We will find you."

If this doesn't wake SCOTUS up, I honestly don't know what will.

I realize I sound like that prepper yelling on the corner but every supply chain person is absolutely flipping their shit right now

MADISON, Wis. – Yesterday, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and other publications reported that Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan apparently attempted to protect a defendant from ICE agents trying to detain that defendant. (1/6)

They’re arresting white judges in swing states now, if you’re trying to determine how safe you are

The FBI just arrested a sitting judge.

There are finally enough Minnesota bookstores on Bluesky to start a starter pack! Let me know if I missed any. #TwinCitiesGeeks

I keep checking… nope! Still no UofMn! Shame on Rebecca Cunningham.

Seeing a lot of MN colleges and universities on here with one big exception...

I'm gonna talk a little about my morning today because I think there's things several things to note. 🧵1/?

A US citizen with a learning disability who has just suffered a medical emergency asks a CBP officer for directions outside the emergency room. He ends up detained in an icebox for ten days and has the assistant secretary of DHS lying about him to the public at large. popular.info/p/us-citizen...

Now it’s Wendy Brito. New Orleans mother taken by ICE. Wife, mother, school volunteer. Legal resident. No charges. No criminal record. No explanation. Routine ICE check-in & she never came home. 3 weeks detained. No reason given. No answers. This is not due process. #USDemocracy #Voices4Victory

Everyone paying attention here, folks? Safety inspections of milk doesn't sounds like waste or fat to me. WTF?

BREAKING: The FDA is planning to end most of its routine food safety inspections, according to CBS News. www.cbsnews.com/news/fda-foo...

Remember that MSNBC interview where they asked North Carolina farmers some hard questions about Trump's trade wars? As a North Carolina farmer, I'd like to set the record straight. Call me next time MSNBC! I'll hook you up with some quality farmer interviews! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sk2y...

Breast cancer diagnoses rose by over 300% between 1973 and 1992. Was there a breast cancer epidemic?! NO. Mammograms were implemented for screening in 1976. PREVALENCE is a function of being able to correctly diagnose something. This is also about autism.

I simply do not understand how a NEWS ORGANIZATION is basically existing in a stage of siege but very rarely conveys in its political coverage that we are in a state of emergency

While Kilmar Abrego Garcia is at the forefront, we must also remember others unjustly deported. Frengel Reyes Mota, a 24-year-old father with no criminal record, was sent to a torture prison in El Salvador with no removal order. He deserves to be remembered. Please share his story.

Last week, DHS and Secretary Noem's staff and spokespeople suggested that because Mr. Abrego Garcia had $1,100 in cash on him when arrested outside Home Depot seeking day labor, that was strong evidence that he was a member of MS-13. I guess that raises a similar question about her $3,000.

“You can’t say people are our most important product and then treat them like shit.” - Jim Sinegal, co-founder of Costco

A 19-year old U.S. citizen was traveling from Albuquerque to Tucson. He was arrested and detained by ICE for 10 days, before his family showed a judge his identification & he was finally released. news.azpm.org/p/news-artic...

Kilmar Garcia was mistakenly deported. The WH mistakenly sent a demand letter to Harvard. A US citizen was mistakenly arrested and held by ICE in Florida. ... these aren't mistakes. They're tests.

Q: "How do you respond to Governor Newsom?" Sen. Van Hollen: "I think Americans are tired of elected officials or politicians who are all finger to the wind...Anybody who can't stand up for the Constitution and the right of due process doesn't deserve to lead."

For those who don't know, driving an 18-wheeler is the #1 job in *more than half of all states*. The will turn into a sort of kitchen table calamity the likes of which this country has never known. Also, because so many of them are technically self-employed, their access to benefits will be minimal.

The freight guys have really started freaking out over the past 48-72 hours:

People should understand how quickly this shift happened. When the Court issued the JGG order on April 7, it couldn't even be bothered to note that the nation is not at war with Venezuela. Now the justices are issuing middle of the night orders to protect detainees from rendition.

amazing how grasping this seems in response to someone doing something, how much he needs to be able to rewrite what you saw. the lesson is to do more things
