Alright y’all, are you ready for some poetry recs?! Hugo nominations close on 3/15, so it’s a great time to get [re]acquainted with some fantastic speculative poetry. Here's a 🧵 of some of my favorites from 2024.

Last night I was doomscrolling reddit and this post was like… an unexpected poem and also now I want to whisper little love spells over everything I make. For my own good as well as for others.

I also want to point people to Rhonda's gofundme page. I know it's a difficult time for all of us but she is so very close to reaching her funding goal which will help focus on her health. www.gofundme.com/f/help-r-s-a...

I have an agent! Super excited to announce that I am now represented by Stevie Finegan at Zeno Agency. Can't wait to find out what the future will bring for my Cyberpunk 2077 x Spirited Away science-fantasy novel 🤞

Reading 2024 poetry? Try the poem "In blue sight" by Eva Papasoulioti! (@epapasoulioti.bsky.social) You can read it here! https://www.uncannymagazine.com/article/in-blue-sight/

Enjoy my novelette about parallel universes, human connection against all odds, and a goth video game in which teeth are the currency. 🦷❤️

"Last week I had a word for it. That feeling when something goes well, really well, and you’re warm and bright inside— there’s a word— but it’s gone, stolen, seized in the raid;" Loved this poem by @swantower.bsky.social in @strangehorizons.bsky.social strangehorizons.com/poetry/a-war...

Holy shit! Yesterday, #TheNightward hit #1 in Australia in Black & African American Science Fiction! It was also #6 in Black & Af-Am Fantasy. This is incredible since the book comes out there next Jan. But it's out today in the UK, so get in on this now! www.amazon.co.uk/Nightward-No...

Just a reminder that submissions for Eye to the Telescope’s (Non) Binaries issue are OPEN until Dec. 15, edited by Haley Bossé ✨ eyetothetelescope.com/submit.html

Thrilled to share the UK cover of SOUR CHERRY, coming April 2025. Karen Joy Fowler called it "An extraordinary, hallucinatory accomplishment," and you can pre-order it here: www.hachette.co.uk/titles/natal...

Teto was trying to drink water from the vase seconds before I took this picture 🤣

Oh, I have a small new poem in Kaleidotrope!

If you'd like something to read on this Saturday, my story @therumpus.bsky.social is a section of the novel I'm working on. It's about the cost of exploration and the weight of memory. I'd be honored if you read it Tw: depictions of dementia therumpus.net/2024/11/04/r...

hey newish sky friends! don’t forget to RT here like you’re throwing confetti—just liking something won’t help other people see or find it here

I neglected pruning the syngonium and it came this close to devouring us.

"I didn’t know what my own body needed, and I didn’t understand what had happened to my tío. Did an American boy break his heart, or did his Catholicism break it?" "A Book Is a Map, a Bed is a Country" by @angelvleal.bsky.social in @uncannymagazine.bsky.social

This is your reminder that writing is a political action.

Celebrate literary Halloween with us by congratulating our nominees for both Brave New Weird and Best Horror of the Year! 1) Take Care (Issue 6) by Lex Chamberlin 2) They Remember Faces (Issue 8) by @leokaolive.bsky.social 3) Dreamer, Passenger, Partner (Issue 8) by Colin Alexander

Don’t be afraid, I’m only walls and windows and foundations. You can touch them. Me. I’m not made of gingerbread -from "The house at the top of the hill" by Eva Papasoulioti (@epapasoulioti.bsky.social), in #Penumbric's Oct issue at www.penumbric.com/currentissue... #poem #poetry #poet #horror

It's here! Super excited to see my Strange Horizons story 'The God of Minor Troubles' in The Year's Best Fantasy Volume 3, edited by Paula Guran, alongside some of my favorite writers.

I'm very excited to have a story out today in @naturefutures.bsky.social ! "A sequence of memories", a story about an old woman in an old generational ship and what home means to her. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

This ship is full of people — but I can’t be with them. They are no company. They are asleep, in stasis for the journey. Which just leaves me. Alone. Well, me … and the ghosts of who we were, and who we hoped to be. #scifi by @epapasoulioti.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Special thank you to Marge Simon for the interview and cover art! And thank you to all the contributors in October's #Penumbric! Angelisa Fontaine-Wood, @epapasoulioti.bsky.social, Barbara Candiotti ... www.penumbric.com/currentissue... #fiction #poetry #art #scifi #fantasy #horror
