With the distraction of my diving course at the beginning of the month and the worries I've faced in recent events, my time and desire to draw have taken a hit.

I dislike a number of "popular elements" that I personally perceive as "overly childish": bubble talk, B I G puffy cheeks, obscenely long breathhold times, etc.
I'm not asking for "realism" but there is something too childish about these elements, too cartoony.
