“Get paid a bounty to kidnap your neighbor” …what a dystopian world we find ourselves a part of…

Has anyone asked ICE if agents and/or deputies get paid per detainee (kidnappee)???!!!

Also, even though the spaceship is labeled USA, the kid in the story has a British accent and there’s a main plot point revolving around how to make tea properly. But his mom has an American accent.

This is followed by what is basically a radio play called “Jack and the flying saucer” where there’s a kid named Jack who lives on the planet called “boom boom” and he trades his favorite worm for a tea saucer that turns into a space ship overnight. I have a feeling this isn’t canon.

I gave a good charitable listen to some yarvin interviews and speeches. Read a few essays with an open mind. And I promise, any group of people who point to someone like that as a genius of any sort is wrong, deceived, or both.

Also, deep in that brain dump of a thread are comments about how these supposed big brains wouldn’t be able to pass a freshman philosophy class. As who was able to pass intro to philosophy, among dozens of other philosophy classes, I assure that conjecture is absolutely true.

I mean really … is Tesla actually worth the share price? Show me why?
comment in response to post
And before people come in saying electric cars are great… sure they can my in some instances and Tesla could very well have moved the needle ahead on this… but a thing can serve multiple purposes at once…

It crosses my mind that all these billionaires with links back to thiel could very easily have manipulated tesla stock, for instance, to reinforce their billions, having musk as a useful but also probably willing idiot.

*touch (not “tough”)

Just wait until I explain that the sport of golf has its roots in very communal towns and was a working man’s game. Its almost as if anything the wealthy tough gets ruined for everyone else …

Pretty sure this is exactly what Cathie Wood did/does

Thiel and palantir were already scary. Have been saying for YEARS that the entire orbit of autocratic shitheads in Silicon Valley orbits around this guy. He has sway over JD Vance and Musk. Fuck these guys and their propensity for appropriating Tolkein -related stuff in particular!

One the one hand this is insanely dystopian. On the other hand, it would be nice to be able to track how long my kids actually brush their teeth for without standing over them in the bathroom when I’d rather be drinking coffee in the morning.

Thank you for attending my TED talk.

(But still… I shouldn’t have to spend hours and hours basically forcing someone to provide the services to me that I pay them to provide… and everyone loses when owners of infinite copyrights decide not to make things available)

(Note that I’m not anti capitalist because I’m not smart enough to come up with something better. And complaints about not being able to find a way to stream a nostalgic film or tv show are, yes, admittedly very first world.)

…and if I had to point a finger at a single driving factor behind everything sucking, it would be pointed directly at the desire for infinite growth and profit motive driven by capitalism.

… long story short… all these stories about the enshittification of the internet and how everything sucks now and like boo hoo my favorite website sucks now… GUESS WHAT ZOOMERS EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET AND EVERYTHING NOT ON THE INTERNET ENTIRELY SUCKS NOW AND IT’S NOT A NEW PHENOMENON…

This has a lot of potential in a sort of meta very annoying sense.

Probably a confusing comment. I didn’t grow up physically near Green Day or somehow adjacent to them in social circles. Just musically they were there and I didn’t hate or love them. Just didn’t fully embrace.

Real talk: I grew up um let’s say adjacent to Green Day. Saw them live last summer for the first time. Now I’m a huge fan and I feel like I really missed out. But maybe I didn’t because there’s a lot of “grown up themes” that adolescent me probably wouldn’t have cared about or noticed.

I don’t think it’s calling out. I think it’s an attempt at normalizing via making it seem like anyone who actually IS calling him out might as well be talking about star destroyers and sci-fi movies.

Could it be that their long term accusations of weaponizing victimhood (or in this case “victimhood”) was… projection? Gasp!

Tell them to hire better schedulers then. Although to be fair, anyone competent will probably tell you they have a love/hate relationship with MS Project.
