To me, STAR WARS felt special when it was coming back after a 10 or 15 year absence. When there's a new thing demanding attention every six months, there's nothing to actually be excited about. At least put a year or two between projects. Don't have to let it rest, but my God, let it breathe.

Loved by the British establishment, especially the Queen, as well. The gentleman's club he's a member of is more embarrassed by the Jewish guy. Fleming had a lot of bad or even just plain odd opinions he expresses in the books, but his utter loathing of the class he'd married into is timeless.

I think Fleming is underrated. For one thing, a major subtext in all those books is that every rich asshole he knew from the country club had zero empathy or humanity, and would take over the world if he could.
