"Cull." They're not deer, #BrokenTimes. They are public servants. They are people.

Exactly why I've been writing, podcasting, and damn near screaming about using the right language. The mainstream media is failing us SO badly right now. Stop. Calling. This. Shit. DEI. This is (re)segregation. This is racial purging. Cleansing Black people from positions of power.

Interesting given the result of the next election after 2009.

I like the cut of this guy's jib. Also, cosign the various replies under the OR noting the general stupidity of IQ in reactionary discourse.

Uhhhh look how many people are showing up against Musk. These are relatively spontaneous grassroots actions. #teslatakedown

Reporters: Our latest Bright Line Watch report is coming out Monday with new expert and public survey data on ratings of US democracy, assessments of current and potential threats and new measures of support for political violence. This is why JD Vance was in Europe claiming that the US values free speech. It is part of the imperial project to force Europe to allow Nazi incitement like the US allows.

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

The Trump regime's segregationist agenda is clear. I argue that having a Black man as president of white America enraged a portion of this country so much, that they decided to destroy any pipeline to Black advancement in academia, government, & workplaces. karenattiah.substack.com/p/trumps-seg...

The attacks on DEI are a pretext for a much more radical agenda of reversing the gains of the civil rights movement, an objective the Trump administration is pursuing with zeal. A Great Resegregation. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Second weekend of #TeslaTakedown protests has events already scheduled in: Tempe, AZ Rockville, MD Boston, MA Golden Valley, MN Maplewood, MN Wexford, PA Tysons Corner, VA Seattle, WA ...and London, for the Brits in the house. Find details at the site - and find out how to host your own.

Hard for me not to see this military leadership purge, coupled with the nomination of Kash Patel at FBI, as a reorientation of American military power inwards, to be used against its own people. About as chilling as Biden's parting words to the military in his farewell address: "remember your oath"

It's so weird how the party that likes to claim their opponents are radical Maoists or Stalinists are engaging in purges of the military, the Justice Department, & dozens of other federal agencies at a scale that is far far far beyond anything any incoming administration in US history has ever done.

call it what it is: a military leadership purge www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

Day #21 of BHM Mary Jane Seacole (1805-1881) was a Black woman of Scottish, British, and Jamaican heritage who was a nurse and businesswoman. Seacole was born to a community of free Black people in Jamaica. 1/

They are telling us, out loud, exactly how the 2026/28 elections will not be free & fair. They will go after vote by mail (bsky.app/profile/mira...). They will go after computer voting. They will then say we can't count all the paper ballots because it's taking too long & there must be fraud. Etc.

Exactly, and this is even before most people realize that most foreign aid funds are spent domestically

MN Dem Senators have come around to more confrontation with R colleagues and the executive branch, esp Smith. Not helpful, though, that they're websites foreground introducing bipartisan legislation, as if we are in a world where the executive will naturally implement the law as written. #uspolitics

Useful thread for understanding the limits to the economic explanations for 2024 result. In addition, as @mcopelov.bsky.social and others have noted, scraping out victory in this election would only have postponed our reckoning with fascist assault on national constitutional governance. #uspolitics

It really grinds my gears the entire “wait could Elon be bad?” discourse exists amid multiple discrimination suits one of which featured his factory consciously and intentionally invoking a plantation as its model of work.

This is how the Tea Party started, after all. They just showed up and talked angry shit for a summer & then they got a lot of money from conservative donors, ran candidates for the next Congress and voila, the groundwork laid for takeover of their party. It is far from impossible to do. Hint. Hint.

Oh oh oh! I know how the regulatory pullback will impact individual investors!!! Pick me! Pick me!

Sent this email including a link to this story to my in-laws, some of whom are non-Trump conservatives:

This is what I mean by news outlets willingly letting themselves get language-policed by the far right. You used to be able to just call this a "Nazi salute." Now it's "a provocative gesture that resembled the controversial salute Elon Musk gave at a post-inauguration rally last month."

I've said for years that anti-Blackness, racism and white supremacy should be considered as misinformation / disinformation. To study the history of race and journalism is to see that White supremacy was an effective disinformation campaign. And through that, we got Jim Crow, a fascist system.
